Climate Change has been a growing epidemic for quite some time, and always seems a topic of controversy. Some believe Climate Change is not real, while others see the affects Climate Change is having on not only the planet, but on humans and animals as well. Here are 4 Reasons Why You Need To Care About Climate Change:

Sea Levels: Sea levels are continuing to rise, and Climate Change plays a significant role in the rise of sea levels by approximately 3.2 millimeters per year. This change may not seem significant, though as sea levels continue to rise, many cities including Long Island and Miami will eventually be under water.

Food: Food is a necessity, and it is also becoming more difficult to produce in some areas of the world. Climate Change affects all areas of the world differently and different rates. Many countries are facing food shortages because there is a lack of essentials such as water and soil to produce needed crops.

Animals: Almost everyone loves animals, and it's a shame there are many animals on the verge of going extinct due to Climate Change. Animals in cold climates, such as polar bears, do not have stable ice to inhabit on due to the fact glaciers are melting as a result of Climate Change, and not to mention, animals in dry areas are dying off because of wild fires due to the extreme heat.

Health: Many humans health and well-being are suffering as a result of Climate Change. As the air in many places such as China continue to be poisoned with chemicals, it's difficult to breathe efficiently and live a healthy life surrounded by all the chemical, mostly contributed by Green House gases and the amount of vehicles on the road and the chemicals given off by vehicles.

Climate Change may not seem like a significant issue because you or someone you know is not being directly affected by the results of Climate Change right now, but you soon will be. If people continue to be blinded by the horrific tragedies that are resulted from Climate Change, they too will soon wish to have opened their eyes to the epidemic taking place right before us.

I challenge you to open your eyes. Speak out on what is happening in this world, and educate those who are blind to this disaster that is continuing to unfold before each and every one of our eyes.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads.
