When people think of Ole Miss they think of tailgating in the fabulous Grove. And while chanting the Hotty Toddy cheer for the Rebs in the best tailgating spot in the country is what all Ole Miss fans look forward, it is not the only great thing about the school. The spring is a wonderful time, for many reasons, to either live in Oxford or to come down and visit.
1. Baseball
Saturdays down south are made better with baseball. I mean who doesn’t love cheering on the Rebs at Swayze field, celebrating homeruns with beer showers, and watching the red solo cups race on the field.
2. Spring Parties
Field parties are what you look forward to in the beginning of the semester and are what get you through the end. Nothing beats waking up in the mornings, going to a field filled with your friends while dancing to music and shotgunning a beer on a nice spring day. Most fraternities have one. And outfit wise: anything goes; and the outfits are truly amazing, and crazy. Try to go to as many as you can because you’re only young once.
3. Sardis Sundays
When the weather is nice on a Sunday, Sardis is the place to go. Sundays are days for relaxation, and that's exactly what you can do there. From making a bonfire at night, to tanning on the beach, to drivin' around in a truck, it's so much fun.
4. The Campus
Ole Miss is blessed with the most beautiful campus. The campus is full of gorgeous southern buildings like the Lyceum with its large white columns. All over you can find tulips adding pops of color everywhere which really remind you of spring. And of course there is renowned tailgating spot, The Grove, filled with oak, elm, and magnolia trees. You can’t help but walk around and fall in love.
