4 Reasons Why I Love Nicholas Sparks
Lovemarks

Nicholas Sparks is one of the best romance novelists, hands down. His ability to take readers inside the minds and emotions of the characters is one of the many reasons why he is well known. As a big fan myself, I haven't found one book by him that hasn't tugged at my heartstrings. From thousands of copies sold worldwide, his work is quite impressive, even for those who aren't fans of sappy love stories. In my opinion, there are many reasons why I truly adore Nicholas Sparks as an innovative writer—and why you should too.

1. His vocabulary.

The usage of his vocabulary is utterly amazing! When you generally speak with knowledge of the words you use, everything flows perfectly. That is exactly what Nicholas Sparks does! While some words he uses are unfamiliar, using context clues help to figure out the meaning of those words. The best part is, the more advanced the word is, the more likely you'll remember it just because it stands out. Learning new words and remembering the definitions increases your vocabulary—making you sound smarter. Honestly, who doesn't want that?

2. Adding real life situations and outcomes.

Let's face it—most romance movies and novels depict a happy ending that in terms of the real world, rarely ever happens. All of Nicholas Sparks's novels are bittersweet; The way he makes the characters go through real life trials is just another way readers can connect and relate to. From undying love after death to a moment of clarity during a toxic relationship, all these realistic situations make it easier and more interesting to see what path the character chooses based on his or her environment and knowledge.

3. Romanticizing tragedy.

A good book isn't interesting without a little drama right? Without an interesting plot most readers lose interest quickly, fortunately most of Nicholas Sparks's books have so much tragedy you wouldn't believe how the characters actually get through it. One of my favorite books written by him, "A Walk To Remember," a young couple in high school get torn apart when a cancerous disease takes one of them away. Although the constant occurrence of death is well known on Mr. Sparks's part, the beauty in the sad situations is how each character handles it and moves on with their lives. It never gets boring seeing how the characters develop mentally during a tough time.

4. The fairy tale love found in our wildest dreams.

Whether we want to admit it or not, we all want the kind of love we see in movies. The most iconic novel written by Nicholas Sparks, The Notebook, literally touches our souls and makes us yearn for the love Noah had for Allie. Even though it's not possible in this day and age to find someone who would go to the end for you, his novels will sure let you at least fantasize about finding the perfect soulmate with pretty words and vivid emotions. It's almost too much to handle.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
