Madame President? I’m the first young woman to get excited about the country’s first woman president, but not at the expense of the dignity, honesty and transparency of our nation. With the election coming up, women from around the country feel obligated to vote for Hillary Clinton to prove a point in history: that a woman can be president.
Ladies, hopefully I’m not the first to tell you, but Hillary Clinton is not the woman we want to represent us for president. As President Obama was the first African-American president, our country continues to achieve many firsts! Just because Hillary would be a first does not mean she should get your vote!
1. Carelessness.
Amid the private email scandal, how does someone in their right mind justify using their private email account for confidential, federal government work matters? There was even a law in place (The Federal Records Act) clearly stating the electronic communication restrictions. She deliberately ignored this law. This should be common sense for someone in a position such as Hillary’s, but unfortunately, it was not, and as a result she got in trouble with the law and is struggling to get this scandal cleared off her record.
2. Honesty.
This is a virtue Hillary Clinton really struggles with. She lacks transparency and continues to be increasingly secretive, from foreign trading deals to assuming responsibility for scandals, such as the one I mentioned above. Maintaining foreign ties is crucial in the federal government and I, for one, can see those quickly falling through the cracks with her as president (see Haiti Mining Scandal).
3.
As former Secretary of State for the Obama Administration, Hillary Clinton was responsible for handling time-sensitive and potentially dangerous situations, such as the Benghazi event on the 11-year anniversary of September 11. In a nutshell, she handled this event extremely inappropriately, and her mishandling of this event cost innocent lives. She clouded others' judgment on this incident, and even messed with government records to hide crucial pieces of the Benghazi puzzle from officials.
4. Trust.
By this point in the article, I hope you notice how untrustworthy Mrs. Clinton is. The Wikileaks scandal is another scandal on her permanent records. In 2010, Hillary demanded that all U.N. officials to be spied on. (You can freak out now if you’d like!) The American public constantly worries about privacy, but with Hillary Clinton as president, I don’t even want to think about the lack of privacy there would be
With more scandals than probably Olivia Pope (we’ll get along just fine if you know this TV show reference), I can’t imagine why anyone with “home-training” would vote #Hillary2016. Ladies, chicas, girls and feminists everywhere–I beg of you. Please think long and hard about if our reputation is worth being exemplified by this Clinton criminal.
