4 Quotes From Season One Of "The Originals" That Will Have You Really Thinking About Life
TV Guide

If you have not watched this amazing show, Netflix has all the seasons so you can catch up on them! This jazz filled show is about vampires, werewolves, and witches trying to live together in the French Quarters of New Orleans! In the first season, we awaited for the birth of the miracle baby that is half vampire, half werewolf that could possibly destroy the world as we know it. You would think that this sounds like every other sci-fi TV show on, but for me this one really gets you to think about life through their quotes or messages that are meant to get you to really think about your life. If I tried to do all THREE seasons, this article would last forever, so the first season is a great place to start because if you can make it through the first season, you will be hooked forever and you won't need a vampire to compel you to like it! These are in no particular order of when they occur or how much about life they make you think it, but let's see if I can possibly get you hooked!

"This city would have seen you dead, but I will have it your home, and every soul who wishes you harm will be struck down, just as sure as my blood runs in your veins. You will return to me." -Klaus

In this moment, my heart literally broke. If you remember Klaus from The Vampire Diaries

you already have a feeling towards him - hate. He is almost the villain in every episode and always seems to lose because good conquers evil. In this instance, my heart broke for him because his child is born, people want her dead, and he has to give her up to his sister, Rebekah, to make sure she is safe. Even some as evil as Klaus has a heart and in this moment, we saw his true heart as he promises his daughter that no matter what, he will protect her and she will return.

"Dear Zoey, or Caitlin, or Angela. To my little girl. Your dad just asked if this was a love letter. I guess it kind of is. I never got to know my mother. I jave no idea what she must have felt when she carried me, so I thought I'd write to you so that you could know how happy I am at this very moment, how much your father and I can't wait to meet you. And I want to make you a promise, three thigns taht you will have that I never did. A safe home, someone to tell you that they love you every single day, and someone to fight for you no matter what. In other words, a family. So there you go, Baby Girl. The rest we're gonna have to figure out together. I love you. Your mom." -Haley

I love this moment with Haley because up until this point, she has been hunted, angry, fighting vampires and witches, and never got a moment to see what she thinks about being a mom. I truly loved this letter she was writing to her daughter because she was finally opening up to being a mom after she kept telling people she was scared since her mother left her. Moral of this letter to me? You may not have had the best mom to raise you, but when you can become a mother that will change everything.

"All change begins with a plan, the success of which depends upon several things. Depth of commitment, passion for one's cause, willingness to embrace a new path, determination to overcome any obstacle, and in some cases, even making unnatural alliances." -Klaus

I loved this quote from Klaus because we know that sometimes working with him can have a person end up dead or left in a box for thousands of years. He was finally accepting that with a pack full of vampires, some wolves on their side, and a powerful witch, nothing can come together if you do not have a team. This is also proven later on in the season when he almost dies and literally everyone came to save him from the brink of death!

"They say the passage of time will heal all wounds, but the greater the loss, the deeper the cut and the more difficult the process to become whole again. The pain may fade, but scars serve as a reminder of our suffering and make the bearer all the more resolved never to be wounded again. So as time moves along we get lost in distractions, act out in frustration, react with aggression, give in to anger, and all the while we plot and plan as we wait to grow stronger, and before we know it, the time passes. We are healed. Ready to begin anew." -Klaus

This hit me because I have not lost someone as in death, I have lost those who just threw me away like trash. I was hurt, I tried to bury it, I pretended like it never happened, and then it almost changed me. I became so angry, I watched this episode, and I almost cried because it was so bottled up that I needed to let it go. Holding something in like that will only cause you you to feel so alone in this world. In the end, we must chose ourselves, we must chose to let it go, and we must move on.

I know these quotes are only from two people from the first season, but you have to admit, these really make you think a little bit. These two went from being lone wolves (no pun intended) to becoming a true family that works together for a better cause - actually really a miracle that no one saw coming. The Originals turned out to be the only spin off show that I have liked in a lot time and I think you should give this show a chance if you liked The Vampire Diaries.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
