After a long, hard semester of studying, studying, and more studying, Christmas break is a long-awaited and much appreciated time. The lack of sleep, stress, and constant moving around does wonders to your health, so here are some ways to quickly restore that health and relax even better.
1. Decompress
Place a warm rag on your neck for 10 minutes, and afterwards roll a tennis ball on your back. It will relax your muscles and get post-finals knots out.
2. Music
Grab your old sound machine, because listening to soothing sounds is proven to reduce your blood pressure, heart rate, and anxiety. Perfect way to fall asleep.
3. Exercise
Stretching, yoga, walking- they all help with easing depression and anxiety. Take the stairs or do some head rolls and you will instantly feel better.
4. Laugh
Turn on the new season of Fuller House and laugh your head off because it is proven to increase brain endorphins, lower cortisol, and lower stress hormones.
Whether you took finals or have a family and are just tired from working, these tips can work for anyone. Be right back, listening to my ocean sounds and catching up on my loss of sleep. Thanks finals. Much love.
