Thanksgiving break is just a tease before all hell breaks loose at the end of the semester. Three weeks seems totally doable until your workload triples what you had before the break and at that point in time you have to count down the minutes in order to stay motivated. In the three weeks before Christmas break every college student has asked these same questions at some point or another:
1. Is it possible to fail the final and still pass the class?
Don’t even lie, you’re guilty of asking this question too. The dedicated may even spend hours calculating the exact percentages of the tests, quizzes, and homework categories in order to obtain the lowest possible score on the final and still pass with a halfway decent grade in the class.
2. Will there be any extra credit offered?
The anticipation every college student feels after asking this question and waiting for the professor’s response is unruly. The professors that give those extra credit opportunities late in the semester (I like to call them angels) are the ones that make light at the end of the tunnel seem the tinniest bit closer.
3. Is it too late to drop out of the class?
“Congratulations, you made it to the last few weeks of the semester, it’s too late to drop out now so you better start studying or else I’ll see you next year!” –every professor
4. Is a college degree really that important?
A hard final can cause even the strongest student to become over-dramatic and contemplate their future as a whole. A failed final can ultimately lead to death by natural disaster. Confused? Ask a college student to walk you through the process.
The end of the semester means that every college will be oozing in anxiety and if you mix that with little to no sleep and 3 quadruple shot lattes then you got yourself the epitome of finals. Three weeks until the stressing is over and you can finally catch up on your sleep and finish the last four seasons of One Tree Hill on Netflix. So keep it up college students, three weeks until we can finally have some peace of mind, and then we get to do it all again next semester!
