Nothing gets the crowd going at a Saturday darty quite like a mom on stage reliving her college years. Parents come from far and near to see exactly where that tuition money is going. If your parents are visiting for your fraternity or sorority parents weekend, then I'm sure you have plenty of events planned.

However, if your parents are coming on an off weekend and don’t fit in the frat scene, then finding things to do may be hard. Here are four parent-friendly things to do near Tuscaloosa.

1. The River Walk.

Take your parents for a walk by the river, maybe after a nice breakfast at Another Broken Egg.

2. Shopping in Midtown Village.

Filled with boutiques and delicious dining options, Midtown Village will occupy most of your day and moms wallet.

3. Tuscaloosa Veterans Memorial Park.

Give Dad a break from shopping and take him over the Veterans Memorial Park.

4. Theatre Tuscaloosa.

See what is playing at the Theatre Tuscaloosa, one of the largest community theatres in the state.

Even if you never visit these locations again, your parents will leave thinking their tuition money is going to good use after all.

Youtube

This semester I started my journey as a member of my University's Alumni Outreach Team. This means a lot of things, but primarily it means that I get to make phone calls to parents and alumni two nights a week to update contact information, collect things like business cards and volunteer hours, and even ask for money.
