Throughout life, we encounter thousands of people who are either compatible with who we are or not. Once we feel that we want to invest our time, love, and emotions into another person, we enter a partnership which we hope will last a lifetime. So how can you determine this level of rapport? While there are many methods claiming to accurately test compatibility, our intuition and conscience never lead us astray. Once we determine that we feel good about the person we're with, psychology, astrology, and numerology can validate what we already feel in our heart! These 4 methods may seem odd, but they are arguably great indicators for compatibility between humans. So grab a notepad and get ready to discover if your partner is meant to be!

1. Myers-Briggs Personality Type

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is an introspective self-report questionnaire designed to indicate psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions (NLP Notes).

Take the test at 16personalites.com and read the free in-depth personality analysis.

How it works:

The four letter combination corresponds to the way you direct and receive energy, the way you take in information, the way you decide and come to conclusions, and the way you approach the outside world. There are 16 possible combinations, meaning that there are, based on this method, 16 types of people on this planet. With so many personality types, some may or may not be a good fit for a healthy relationship.

My boyfriend and I had to admit that both our personality profiles were unbelievably accurate in their descriptions of who we are. That's why it was no surprise to find that our personalities were like long lost puzzle pieces!

2. Numerology (Life Path)

Numerology is the study of the occult meanings of numbers and their influence on human life (Spells Of Magic). The most important number in your Numerology chart is your Life Path number, based on the date of your birth. Your Life Path number reveals a broad outline of the opportunities, challenges and lessons you will encounter during this lifetime.

Calculate it at http://www.tokenrock.com/numerology/life_path/ and read all about your life path.

How it works:

Adding together your full birth date and reducing the numbers by adding them again will give you your life path number. Master numbers of 11, 22, and 33 should not be reduced further as seen below. These three numbers hold great significance in their double digit form. Sometimes, you will be asked to reduce them down to 2, 4, and 6 when no information can be provided for double digit master numbers.

With a master number 11 earning me both a double 1 and a 2 (since 1+1), it seemed tricky to find someone who could be compatible with both sides of the coin. It just so happened that my partner was a Life Path 3, a great match for both my Life Path 1 and 2.

We have a running joke: 1+2=3 or in other words, I equal him perfectly (Life Path 1 + Life Path 2 = Life Path 3).

3. Astrology (Zodiac)

There are many areas of astrology you can delve into but the most obvious and notorious regards zodiac signs. Their accuracy is still up for debate and yet many find them to be on-point in terms of compatibility. Why not check it out just for fun? Might as well test to see if your Myers-Briggs results are just as compatible as your zodiac signs!

How it works:

The time of year we were born can hold great significance, especially when it comes to the elements we represent. These elements interact between people and can make for either healthy or unhealthy relationships.

4. Intuition/Gut Feeling

You can always feel if there is chemistry, harmony, and attraction. Nothing is more reliable than what your conscience is telling you about the person you're with. It's important to have a healthy relationship and to watch out for the signs that you deserve better. By and by, this method is the one we should not overlook.

How it works:

Like most things in life, we need to properly inspect everything from toasters to that month old lettuce sitting in the fridge to make sure it is up to the standards we require. The same goes for relationships.

Examining the relationship at a glance:

Some signs they are your ideal partner:

1) You share the same life goals.
2) The conversations never run out but even without conversation you read the other's mind.
3) They are an imperfect person but they are perfect to you.
4) No amount of time together seems to be enough for both of you.
5) They respect, trust, and believe in you and your dreams.
6) You could tell them anything without fear or restriction.
7) They challenge you and make you a better person each day.
8) You can't imagine a world without them.

Occasionally you will meet that rare someone who is the perfect match on all four forms of compatibility testing. In my own life, I have met that very person! I personally believe these methods to be highly accurate in their descriptions of both me, my boyfriend, and why we mesh together so well. But it is important to state that our intuition ultimately overrides all the other results, as many factors can play into each method that are not always mentioned to amateurs. No matter what, these are fascinating and fun ways to consider how healthy your relationship is and help you to ponder if maybe you two were destined to be soulmates!
