Lets talk music. There is something for everyone out there for every occasion, for every emotion. Understanding someone’s taste in music is understanding a whole new side to a person. Today I’ve decided to give you all a look into my music library. Maybe I can lead you in the direction of some awesome artists you’ve yet to discover, or maybe I’ve just given you some useless noise for the next 30 minutes — which is also totally okay; my taste may not be yours, but regardless here are some artists I have been loving

Jon Bellion

Here we have my personal favorite artist of the moment. I first discovered Jon Bellion when I was going through the lineup for Governors Ball Music Festival, which took place in NYC this past June. I was pretty set on seeing another artist that was performing during the same time slot, but decided to look up some of Bellion’s music before completely ruling him out. To my surprise, I would come to find one of the most versatile and unique artist possibly ever (exaggeration, but you get the point). From rapping to singing to beat boxing, his songs are all so different yet similarly catchy. Before he even released his own music, he was a music producer, and has written songs for Eminem, Jason Derulo, and many more. A few songs you must check out: "Guillotine," "Pre-Occupied," "Run Wild," and "All Time Low."

Personally, I love every single song of his, but start off with these four and I’m sure you’ll find yourself listening to his entire album.

Glass Animals

According to everywhere, Glass Animals is referred to as “English Indie Rock.” However, I find it very hard to categorize this group into any sort of restricting category. Close your eyes and listen to Glass Animals and you’ll feel like you’re either wondering through the rainforest, or floating in the clouds, or perhaps something completely different; that’s the great thing about music, and Glass Animals in particular — everyone can interpret them differently.

With just four people making up this band, I find it amazing how they give off the sound that they do. They’ve grown in popularity over the past year, so I’m sure many of you have heard of them before, but regardless here are some of their best songs: "Black Mambo," "Toes," "Pools" and "Gooey."

Marian Hill

If you like jazz music, Marian Hill is the band for you. Marian Hill produces a modern jazz/blues sound while incorporating the current day trend of heavy base and techno. The Huffington Post refers to it as “sax-ual” music, and I couldn’t agree more.

Some of my favorites: "One Time," "I Want You" and "Take Your Time" — you’ll be hooked after one song.

Son Little

When it's time for you to take a chill pill, sit down, relax, and listen to some slow jams, this is the guy you’re gonna wanna know.

Son Little’s voice sounds like a chocolate bar tastes — so rich. Son little has the perfect tunes to fall asleep to in the best way possible. Songs to know: "Lay Down," "Your Love Will Blow Me Away."

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
