4 Group Fitness Classes To Take At The Leach
FSU Campus Recreation

It's January, and we all know what that means. It's that time of the year where we all try to whip our butts into shape. But working out alone can be boring and demotivating. That's where group fitness comes in. Blaring pop music, a trainer to push you, and a whole group of people you're way too scared to slack off in front of. Group fitness is a great way to get out of your comfort zone and try something new in your fitness routine. Luckily, the Leach offers a ton of great, free classes for you to check out. Here are some of my personal favorites:

1. Barre Fusion.

If you love ballet and your muscles to ache to badly that you can't sit on the toilet in the morning, this is the class for you. It involves high repetition of tiny movements and light weights. Seems easy at first, but it definitely gets the job down. You also might cry a bit, but it's fun, I swear!

2. Dance!

Wanna party instead of work out? Well I've got news for you, honey. Dance! is the most fun workout class you will ever take. I mean, it has an exclamation point in the name for a reason. You do not have to be good at dancing to take this class at all. It's all about having fun here!

3. Spin 45.

Spin will kick your butt. Although it is an intense work out, it's still really fun. There's something exhilarating about pumping the pedals of your bike as fast as you can, while music blares through the room and your instructor cheers you on. You will be sore the next day, but in the best way.

4. Kickboxing.

This class makes you feel like a complete and total badass. It's a great stress reliever when you're worried about tests or homework. Kick that negativity far away from you and go to kickboxing!

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2023, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

Kent State University
Great Value Colleges

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.

The winters at Kent are brutal, and while the heated sidewalks and some great snow boots are always a help, there’s no chance you won’t bust it on the ice at least once in your four plus years at school.

5 Reasons Why Finals Week Is The Worst For People Who Love Christmas

Christmas is on the brain during the month of December, not finals! How do you expect me to study?

Christmas is literally so close. We can almost taste it. But there is just one thing standing between you and the big day: FINALS. It's not the studying, lack of sleep, last minute cram sessions or crappy food intake that is the worst... but the fact that you cannot focus because, well, CHRISTMAS. How do professors expect you to focus when Christmas is soooo soon. For all my fellow Christmas lovers out there, I feel your pain.
