4 Great Harry Potter Inspired Recipes
Harry Potter Wiki

At this point it shouldn’t be surprising that I’m writing about Harry Potter again, but this time there’s a fun little twist. I love to bake and making Harry Potter inspired cakes and drinks is always a fun time. There are so many different recipes online to try, but here are four that I have tried and absolutely loved.

1. Golden Snitch Cake Pops

These are so fun and so easy to make. My mom and I made about 40 of them to put on and around my birthday cake this year and they were a total hit. All you really need is a box or two of cake mix, icing, white chocolate, and gold sparkle sprinkles. Here is a link to the recipe we used as a starting point, but in a typical fashion, almost immediately deviated from.

2. Chocolate Frogs

We have made these tons of time because they’re fun, delicious, and so simple. All you need is melting chocolate and a frog shaped mold and you’re good to go. We used these for my birthday cake this year too, but we’ve also made them for Harry Potter themed parties and a few times for Halloween, if I remember correctly. I found a recipe in case you're someone who needs recipes when baking. The recipe puts a filling in the chocolate frogs, but ours are always just plain chocolate.

3. Butterbeer

You really can’t go wrong with butterbeer. Note: there isn’t any actual beer in this despite the name. It’s mostly cream soda, but there’s nothing wrong with that. Plus, making the cream topping is fun. Got a recipe right here for you. My best friend and I love to make a big pitcher of butterbeer and camp out on the couch for a few hours to watch a Harry Potter movie to two.

4. Cauldron Cakes

These are also super fun and easy to make! In case you couldn’t already tell, I like easy and quick recipes. And I’m a total sucker for chocolate cakes, so this seems like an obvious choice. Also, adding in marshmallow and chocolate cake is a definite way to make me happy as a clam. Plus, they look super cute when they’re all done. Here is a recipe that I really like.

I think these are all super fun and delicious, so let me know what you think if you have had or decide to try any of them! They are super easy to make and a great way to add a little bit of fun to a movie marathon or just a random night of nerdy baking.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
