Hello again, class of 2021. I hope you are all enjoying your summer after graduation and are getting ready and really excited for the start of your freshman year! I know that when I first started I was really curious on what I should actually bring. Rules on what you can and cannot have depend on the school, but these are some things that I forgot or didn't think about, and they are so important! These are four things that I thought were super useful and might be something you may forget.

1. A bedside table or caddy

I have glasses, and you really need a place to sit them down at night. The beds at my college were very high up and it was impossible to use a normal table with them. I had a girl just down the hall who had a table that connected to the side of her bed. I had a fabric caddy that had areas for books, and that hung just above my head. It is something really useful, that I suggest you pick up. Here is one I found on Amazon. I used command hooks to put it up, worked like a charm.

2. Really good headphones/earbuds

I cannot tell you how many times an amazing pair of headphones came in handy. Being in the library, it was helpful to drown out the shuffling and paper turning. Having a good pair is really important, and it saved my life in my freshman year. I could study in the loudest places, as long as I had these with me. Here is the pair I got (I got a really good sale, though). Here are a great pair of earbuds, if that is more your style.

3. Good Music

Now, what is a good pair of headphones without something awesome to listen to with them? I ended up buying a subscription to Spotify, and I am in love. Getting to listen to whatever I want? Amazing. Being able to download anything I want to listen to so I don't use all my data? WONDERFUL! There is a student discount, here. So worth it.

4. Adorable Rain Boots

Especially at my college, it pours. All the time. It sucks to be walking from class to class when your shoes are soaked. It also can make sure that you get sick, which would suck! It's hard enough to get to class, but what if you get really sick and can't make it? I don't want that makeup work on my brain! Here is a great pair, I love them.

Best of luck, class of 2021 with your freshman year. It will be great!

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
