What College Seniors Begin To Feel Less Than 100 Days Until Graduation

But by your graduation day, I am sure you will think it was all worth it.

If you are a second-semester college senior, you probably just realized you are less than 100 days away from completing your undergraduate career. In less than 100 days you will be crossing that stage, receiving one of the most expensive pieces of paper of your life. That piece of paper may have cost at least $200,000 in tuition, $500+ for nights out, $1,000 in textbooks, many sleepless nights, and a whole lot of stress. But by your graduation day, I am sure you will think it was all worth it. However until graduation, here are some of the feelings we will be feeling until we are officially the Class of 2017!

1. Excitement

You begin to feel excitement knowing that in a few short months you will be a college graduate. You begin to feel excitement knowing that you are going to have a great last few months with your best friends and be able to live it up all day, every day.

2. Stress

Now you begin to feel the stress and pressure of finding a job with less than 100 days until graduation. You begin to feel the stress of your senior thesis, all the classes you need to graduate, and everything else you need to get done in the next few weeks.

3. Heartbroken

Now everything you do on and off campus starts to become a series of lasts. The last time you take the Valiant into White Plains to go to Brother Jimmy's. The last time you take the 3 AM Valiant back to campus. The last time you get to have a gross pub wrap - I mean who would actually miss that? The last time you get to go lay out on the Quad. And your last Nights Parties and Quad Jam.

4. Fear

You begin to start feeling "fear of the unknown." What will happen once you graduate and what will happen to the friendships you have built through your time at college. You also begin to feel fearful about passing all your classes and graduating "on time."

Good luck seniors! We are officially in double digits!

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
