Because summer isn't always about vacation.

4 Essential Albums for Summer 2017

4.) Lana Del Rey - "Lust for Life"

Anyone who's ever heard a song by Lana Del Rey knows how depressed she is and her songs don't really fit in with summer. However, her new singles "Love" and "Lust for Life" showcase a much happier side of her - which is perfect for summer 2017. And even comparing her album covers, there's an obvious difference and Lana is definitely happier. Her album is set to drop July 21st and it's bound to make your summer at least a little bit happier. Even Lana knows this summer will be good because she's finally happy.

3.) Envy on the Coast - "Ritual"

After 7 long years of fans not knowing if EOTC would be back or not, Ryan Hunter and Bryan Byrne came back to release a 6 song album (or EP) titled Ritual. This album is certainly more rock-y than the others on this list, but that doesn't make it any less essential. EOTC is a very experimental band and songs like "Virginia Girls" and "Lioness" provide a much-needed chiller aura than some pop songs on this list. If nothing, this album is good to relax to or listen to while aimlessly driving around in the country. #EOTCDXVI

2.) All Time Low - "Last Young Renegade"

This is another rockier album, but All Time Low is more pop-rock than Ritual. All Time Low has always had a habit of releasing "happy" albums, no matter what the content of the album was (Does anyone remember "Under a Paper Moon" on Dirty Work?). I'd argue that their new album doesn't have much sad content this time around, but it is still definitely a happier vibe. They even have a song on their new album dedicated to their fans - "Nice2KnoU", and if that's not the cutest thing a band has done for its fans, I'm not sure what is. FYI, if you want a good rock song to dance alone to, try "Afterglow" and thank me later.

1.) Halsey - "Hopeless Fountain Kingdom"

If I was just making a list of the greatest albums, Halsey would have two spots on the list and this one would be second (sorry, Casey). But because this album came out in June and it's really good, it made the top of the list. I'll be the first to admit that I hated "Now or Never" when it first came out, but deep down I knew it would be a summer song. Nearly every song on this album (and Badlands) has catchy verses, and beats that just make you want to dance no matter where you are or who you're with. I could go on for days about how much I love Halsey and think that she deserves to be on everyone's playlists year-round, she definitely should be your go-to artist this summer.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
