Dear Future College Freshman,

Hey! Congrats! You made it! Your first step into the adult world was graduating, and you killed it. Now all you have to worry about is College... I'm Ashley, your FFG (Freshman Fairy Godmother!!). I'm here to give you all a mini crash course through Freshman Year. I'll basically lay out all the crazy Do'es/Don'ts and Oh No's that come along with starting your new life at college.These letters are just for You. (;

First things first, MOVE IN DAY!. Its a day filled with new faces and snippets of information. You'll meet a bunch of new people all trying to adjust, just like you are, to a new setting. My school in particular tried really (and I mean Really) hard to get us all to socialize with each other and in that I basically found "my people". I'd like to say that the success I found meeting my group of friends I have now, had a lot to do with social media. This is Do!, before I had even arrived on campus I did a little research. It was actually through someone who befriended me on Twitter, and who was going to the same school, that really helped me meet all the amazing people I'm still friends with today

One thing I definitely brought with me that helped was a new mentality. That's definitely a Do!. Your in a totally new place, one thing I knew when I left high school was that the mentality I had then, needed to change. Being more positive, outgoing, or changing something about your appearance are all ways to do so. Know-one knows the "old" you, so use this time to re-invent yourself, its literally the perfect time!

One thing I wish someone would've told me before I got to college would be that getting out of your comfort zone, and being a little crazy is okay. This is your year to do the unexpected, No i don't mean getting arrested or becoming a functioning alcoholic lol , I mean really doing something the normal you wouldn't do, and feeling totally okay with it.

Being yourself is a really important thing. I'm really good at reading people, and a genuine person is so much more appealing than being someone who is just there to take up space. Don't! be someone who attracts negativity, or earns a bad rep from the start. As hard as it is, first impressions play a huge role in how your viewed. Its so much easier to be yourself from the beginning.

I know that all this info seems like a lot, but it really helps ! I have so much more to share with you and hope you're ready for the exciting and amazing journey your about to start.

Till Next time,

Your FGG.... aka Ashley (;

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
