One of the attractions of Clemson University is the ability to easily enjoy the great outdoors. With its setting near the mountains, Clemson students have access to many hiking and biking trails. Hiking is great exercise and allows you to appreciate nature and have fun at the same time. If you are interested in this type of recreation, but don’t have a clue where these trails are, look no further. Here are some of the best trails near Clemson University just waiting to be treasured!
Table Rock State Park. This park offers gorgeous hiking trails as well as fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and pedal boat rentals, picnic shelters with playgrounds, camping cabins, and programs and events throughout the year such as Music on the Mountain. With views for more than 100 miles, Table Rock State Park provides five separate trails with varying lengths and intersects with the 80-mile Foothills Trail.

Foothills Trail. Located in the northwest corner of the state, Foothills trail and its connectors deliver almost 200 miles of hiking and will give you an “extraordinary backcountry experience.”

Issaqueena Lake and Dam Trail. These trails are moderately difficult and used by hikers, bikers, and horses. They are open from dawn until dusk and have no fees.

Cherokee Interpretive Trail: If you want an easy beginner trail this trail is the one for you. It’s a .3-mile loop and includes an interpretive center park museum.
