Every college student waits for the summer vacation, so they can get away from day to day semester life. Some students take summer jobs and some may take internships if the opportunity arrives. Usually during the summer break I don't really get a break, either I'm working, taking summer classes or traveling. Just like most summer break this summer I also had plans to travel, but my plans didn't work out at all as planned, which meant i had all the times on my hands that I needed. So, what do you do when you have all the time in the world? In this article I will tell you four things to do during the summer break or any break for that matter when you are bored.

1. Read a Book.

There are so many books out there in the world to read from, but, it all depends on the reader. There are so many genre's to choose from its very hard to figure out. Some like fiction, some like non fiction and some like science fiction to name a few. I personally enjoy self help books. something that I can learn something new about my self , or something that will help me grow my mind. "Magic of thinking big", "Three feet from gold", "Think and grow rich" these are just a few books to name that will not only enlighten you but also help you improve yourselves in every aspects of your lives one way or another.

2. Working on a Do It Yourself (DIY) projects.

Pinterest has so many different ideas you can use, they even show some step by step, so you can learn exactly how to do a certain project. If you know how to sew you can many many different little things and if you like can even sell them on Etsy. I have been making key chains. If you are not familiar with sewing many other different projects can be done through out the summer, for example cleaning and organizing your entire place one room at a time. I have started doing that through out this summer couple of more rooms to go but I have almost finished all my list of things to organize and things to do. We don't realize how much we accumulate over time, this organizing project helps you get rid of stuff you don't need or don't use. I donated most of my stuff that I do not use so maybe someone else can benefit from it.

3. Find a New Hobby!

There are so many things that can be done as a hobby. Some people collect coins, some volunteer, some read books. You can start volunteering at a hospital, or a shelter or a food bank. Volunteering is so rewarding, helping someone without any means is so rewarding to the soul. you can also start writing a journal. Some people write for others to help them with their projects. you can start writing for different organizations, so your work can be published. Better yet you can start your own blog, about the topic that interest you may it be political or even life style, there is a huge market for it since we are such a technological society. Who knows your articles may help someone in one way or another.

4. Work on Self Improvement!

There is never a better time than today to help improve yourself. You can never be too late in helping yourself be the better version of yourself than you were yesterday (say that sentence 10 times fast). Some people like to read self help books to help improve themselves, because you know what your need improvement on and some like to listen to lectures, audios and some may even attend different self help seminars. Some people like to work out and eat healthy so they can live a healthy life style. As mentioned above I love to read self help books and even listen to lectures and audios that can help me improve myself and every aspect of my life. I'm also started to establish a work out routine and trying to work on my healthy eating habits because as they say if you are healthy you can help the people around you be healthy and happy, may it be physical health or mental health. we all should do our part to help one another.

There are so many things that can be done in the summer when bored, not to mention travels. I shared with you four things that I, myself am working on this summer while bored and hope that you can benefit from it too.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
