4 Blogs That Every #GirlBoss Needs To Follow

"A flower never thinks about competing with a fellow flower, it just blooms."

One of the most amazing things is witnessing women empower other women. We're already facing enough challenges stemming solely from our gender, so the last thing we need is another female bringing us down. If you're a fierce #girlboss you know how hard it can be sometimes to find real support from other girl bosses, and in all reality there's no need to be competing with one another. Once we realize how much we can benefit from helping each other rise to the top we will be unstoppable. If you're looking for advice and motivation to keep you on track to reaching your goals, I've found four inspiring ladies who have made it their mission to empower other women. Here's four blogs that every hardworking woman needs to be reading.

Ivanka Trump

It doesn't matter who you voted for in the recent presidential election, or how you feel about Ivanka's father, Donald Trump. Ivanka's blog is specifically designed for the working woman and it's actually pretty good. The site is adorable and super easy to access on your phone or computer. A lot of her blogs are short lists that get right down to business and are all very helpful for women in the workplace/school. She also has tabs for style, travel, and other fun things, overall her site is the perfect mix of work and play. www.ivankatrump.com

Career Contessa

Career Contessa was started by a girl who is just like you. Lauren McGoodwin changed her major in her junior year of college and attended every career fair and career counseling she could and still graduated with no job and no direction. She settled for a job in admissions at her university and there she discovered her love for recruiting. Through her thesis project for graduate school she started a website that showcases successful women, contessas, and tells their story of how they made it to the top. Each article is broken down in an easy-to-read way with a quick description of the girl boss and then a Q&A session. Lauren's site is an awesome resource for inspiration and helpful tips for making your way in the working world. There's even a tab for jobs if you're looking to apply! www.careercontessa.com

THINK LIKE A BOSS LADY

www.thinklikeabosslady.com was created by Lisa Tufano and it's purpose is to empower and educate women who share the goal for success and happiness. Here's a blurb from the site that speaks for itself: "THINK LIKE A BOSS LADY was created as a lifestyle and empowerment blog for the modern millennial woman. You'll find everything from life hacking shortcuts and etiquette tips to career and financial advice, with a healthy dose of budget-friendly shopping and fashion inspiration sprinkled in."

The Skinny Confidential

My personal favorite, The Skinny Confidential creator Lauryn Evarts is charismatic and will draw you in with her witty banter and clever captions. Her blog is so fun to read and she has all sorts of goodies to be discovered. She is more of a lifestyle blogger, but she is a successful entrepreneur and gives great advice. If you're looking for a blog that will motivate you to being a productive member of society and help you look good doing it, this is the one for you. www.theskinnyconfidential.com

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
