4 Beauty Products Every Girl Should Know About

Over these years I have done several "trial-and-error" beauty excursions to find products that actually work. Here are four that have greatly impacted my beauty routine!

1. Hibiclens Chlorhexidine Gluconate Solution.

Never heard of it? Neither had I. It's hard to believe that Walmart sells a product with a name like that on its shelf, but I have to say that it has been a saving grace as far as my skin goes. The solution is a type of antiseptic cleanser many doctors use to wash their hands that kill bacteria (thus a great resource to turn to if you have troubled skin!). I had a friend-of-a-friend recommend it to me in my earlier days and have used it ever since for clearer skin. All you need is a drop or two, massage your face with it for a few seconds and you're good! A bottle will last a long time and it only cost between five to six dollars at Walmart. I give it a 5/5!

2. Fantasia Hair Polisher (for Color Treated and Chemically Damaged Hair Extra Strength)

One of the few things I really regret not packing in my suitcase for college. Not only does this product smell delicious, it actually smooths your luscious locks! I have thick, curly/wavy hair that gets incredibly dry at the ends and frizzes, but this product manages it quite well. After I straighten or curl my hair I run a few drops of the product through the ends of my hair which immediately give it more shine and less frizz without making the hair look greasy or weighed down. I found this product at Sally's hair store, but it can also be purchased online for under ten dollars (look up the reviews online if you don't believe me. This product won't let you down!)

3. Avocado, Honey, and Banana

Simple, yet very effective on hair. I did a little research and heard that honey, bananas, and avocado were all extremely beneficial to hair health so I decided to give it a try. I stuck half of a banana and half an avocado in a food processor, added a little bit of honey and blended it. I applied the sweet-smelling mixture to my scalp, let it sit for 20-30 minutes and rinsed it off. I was surprised to find the texture of my hair softer and more smooth. Surprisingly, the results lasted a couple of days afterward. I would recommend this moisturizing mask a few times a month to those with extremely dry hair.

4. Hydrogen Peroxide

I have friends who have rinsed with Hydrogen Peroxide for years and they all have something in common white teeth. Hydrogen Peroxide helps kills the extra bacteria in your mouth, preventing tooth decay and promoting better enamel health. Get ready to rinse and smile big!

I hope these products are as helpful to you as they have been to me! Enjoy!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
