School is out, the sun is shining, and you have over two months of complete freedom from the stress of maintaining perfect grades and seeing the same people everyday at school. A handful of people are going to camp, most are going out of the country, but what if you can't leave town at all? Luckily for you here is a list of five fantastic places you should go this summer while you're in the Atlanta area.
1. Rooftops
Rooftops, seriously? What could be so fun about them? When you venture further into the city there are many high rise buildings with accessible rooftops. Just being on top of a building makes you feel invincible and on top of the world, but other than that, you can see the whole city from above and get awesome photos as well. It's free, and fun when you're with friends or even by yourself in the city.
2. Botanical Gardens
Many people wouldn't think that looking at plants all day is the best way to spend their time, but the Atlanta Botanical Gardens has a lot to offer for people of all ages. There are many exhibits that are constantly changing and it's the number one destination to visit with family, friends, dates or again, by yourself for not too much of a cost.
3. Georgia Aquarium
No matter how old you are, the aquarium never gets old. The Georgia Aquarium is, in fact, one of the best aquariums in the entire world, so we have it good down here. The exhibits are always changing and there are things such as dolphin shows and many interactive things that you can do. It's located in an area where there is much to do as well, so it's worth a visit.
4. Little Five Points
Last but not least, Little Five Points is a great area for teenagers or students alike to walk down and go to awesome stores and delicious places to eat. It's easily accessible through Marta or buses, and a popular summer destination as well.
