No more gluing on fake eyelashes, ladies!
A few weeks ago, an alum sister of mine in Alpha Sigma Alpha messaged me wondering if I would be willing to try out her product: Younique 3D mascara. Sure, why not, right? Well, little did I know I would fall in love.
I have never personally used fake eyelashes before. I like to look nice and put together, but most of the time I just throw on some eyeliner and mascara and call it a day.
I didn't know what to expect. When I opened the package sent all the way from Germany, I was (not going to lie) a little scared. Millions of loose 3D fibers in a mascara tube that I would put directly on my lashes?
Well, turns out it isn't as scary as I thought. The instant enhancement was mind-blowing.
They give a look that is natural, but bold enough to entice people to ask, "Are those your real eyelashes?"
I've been using the product for about a week now, and it's safe to say I will keep using it until I run out. Once I do, I'll definitely be ordering some more.
Reading through the application directions was also a little intimidating, but it was easy to apply.
1. Gel, fiber, gel. Apply the gel like a regular mascara, then apply the fibers just to the ends of your lashes, then seal with the gel. Do one eye at a time so the gel is wet when you apply the fibers or they won't have anything to stick to! You can then do fibers again for more length; just always make sure to always end with gel.
2. Apply thin and light coats! Otherwise it could clump. For the best results, scrape the gel wand on the edge of the tube to get off excess gel, and roll the fiber wand on your hand before applying.
3. Squint for coverage of the ends of your lashes in order to ensure maximum length.
I'm not one to write sappy reviews of products, so this article should prove that this product is truly worth the $29 market price.
Younique offers a full beauty bar. From cleanser and moisturizer to primer to eye palettes and mascara. "The foundation has been a huge hit and we seriously cannot keep it in stock. Literally every shade is out of stock. The company is only a few years old and started out just selling mascara. It's grown so much," said Anna Harrison, the alum sister who got me hooked.
"The backbone of the business is hosting parties. Hosting a party is 100 percent free. You add your friends to a private Facebook group and then I literally do everything else. Hostesses have the opportunity to earn rewards if their party is successful. The business is open to anyone who is interested," she said.
