I was thankful everyday for an entire year.

366 Days Of Thanks

2016 was a HUGE year for me. This was the year I graduated high school, moved away to college, and experienced living on my own for the first time.

Another huge event that happened to me as a result of a small decision I decided to make on January 1st, 2016. While making this little decision, I had no idea the impact that this would result in my life. This decision was to start an "#ebproject366" During this project, I would post on instagram an event, a person, a quote, a memory, etc that I was thankful for that day.

The project started out very easy. I'm thankful for my friends, family, food, a house; then it became more difficult. I really had to focus on the things that mattered and what really meant the most to me at the end of each day. Some days my posts were not always positive things that I am thankful for. Sometimes, you have to be thankful for the bad things in life too. They open your eyes to see the good things that you've never really payed attention to.

After 366 days of being thankful, I have really learned a lot. I learned that some days aren't always easy. I learned that no matter what happens, if we wake up each morning we have many reasons to be thankful. I also learned that through being thankful I have improved many relationships. When we appreciate others and show our gratitude and thankfulness for a person our relationships grow stronger.

I would like to thank all of the people who encouraged me through this project and also to those who doubted me. It was a great experience and I have learned a lot through it and even learned a lot about myself.

I encourage everyone to notice the small things each day and appreciate what is around you. No, you don't have to post it on social media like I did. However, once you start slowing down in life and start to take in each moment I guarantee you your life and attitude will change for the better.

Just remember, "every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day."

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
