A bond between a mother and daughter is something special. It’s a relationship that stays constant, even when everything else in your life is changing. Even though you may have fought with her all through high school, when you moved away, you realized how much you love her. All the fights, passive aggressive comments and yelling matches you had with her don’t matter anymore. She’s turned into your best friend, the one person you can talk to about everything and anything and she’ll actually listen. If your relationship with your mother is anything like mine, you’ll be able to identify with these 36 reasons of why your mom is your best friend.

1. You can always call her to ask for advice.

2. She will give you an honest answer, even if it wasn't what you wanted to hear.

3. She will always be the one to convince your dad to give you more money because you know, college.

4. Whether it’s Valentine’s Day or Halloween, she will send you something cute in the mail, so you don’t feel left out.

5. She loves you in lieu of your past mistakes.

6. She will always be your number one fan, no matter what activity you’re in.

7. If you need to laugh or cry, you can always count on her to help you out with it.

8. She’s probably one of the reasons you’ve either laughed or cried in the past 24 hours.

9. Her and Gatorade are the only things you want when you’re sick.

10. She was probably the person who introduced you to chocolate, the worlds greatest gift.

11. Even though she takes way too many pictures, you’re secretly happy she knows your best angles.

12. You can always tell her anything, even if it’s in TMI territory.

13. She would drop anything to help you if you asked her to.

14. You pooped on her when you were born; you basically owe her for the rest of your life.

15. Even if your friends cancel, she will be the one to go and see the sappy love movie with you.

16. She understands your obsession with puppies. Who do you think you got it from?

17. She will be the one to whack you upside the head when you do something dumb.

18. But then help you clean up the mess from the dumb thing you did.

19. She will protect you no matter what.

20. She will bring you your favorite ice cream after a breakup.

21. Then help you eat it, so you don’t have to be alone.

22. She's always ready to hear the gossip from school.

23. And then will listen to you complain about the idiot in your psychology class.

24. She’s the one person you could get a hug from, and it will actually fix something.

25. She’s willing to go above and beyond to make you happy.

26. Even is she breaks a couple boundaries to do so.

27. Need some clothes? She’s always down to go shopping.

28. Who need friends when you can spend all night talking to her?

29. Your dad is important, too, but the real test for the new significant other is if your mom likes them.

30. Her homemade meals are the bomb.com

31. At this point in your life, there is no one better to share a glass of wine with.

32. And, she’ll get the good stuff, too, not just the $3 one you’re normally drink.

33. She’s the first person you probably ever cried your heart out to.

34. You’re obligated to tell her she looks pretty because you know one day, you’ll look just like her.

35. If you’re lucky enough, you can steal clothes from her wardrobe.

36. She’s the one person you can count on for the rest of your life, no matter the circumstances.

So, here’s to you, Mom, my best friend and the one person who is always there for me to matter what. I love you to the moon and back.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
