As school begins, many students will be moving into their freshman dorms and upperclassmen will be moving into their apartments. It is exciting to be away from home and have freedom. Although the idea of moving sounds so exciting and you can't wait to live in your new home, moving is exhausting. Moving is stressful, making sure everything has a place in a specific box and trying not to overpack. Overpacking, however, is inevitable. It is hard to throw away your favorite T-shirt, even though it is two sizes too small or get rid of a pair of shoes, even though they are so worn out, you barely wear them. A lot of things get said when you are moving, whether you are moving into a dorm, apartment or even your first house! Moving is usually an experience everyone wishes to avoid like the plague. I have moved a lot in the last few years, so these are just a few quotes I feel like everyone can relate to.

1. "Why do I have so much stuff?"

2. "Where should I put this?"

3. "I have no room for this."

4. "Why is my room the size of a closet?"

5. "Why did I pack this?"

6. "Where is that one box of shoes?"

7. "Frick, I left that at home."

8. "How do I put this together?"

9. "I need to go to Target."

10. "Where is my roommate going to put her stuff?"

11. "Oh, I forgot I had this shirt."

12. "Where should I hang this?"

13. "Is this crooked?"

14. "I need more Command strips."

15. "I don't know how to put my desk together."

16. "I lost a screw."

17. "I need to call my mom."

18. "I need to call my dad."

19. "I need to recycle all these boxes."

20. "When is trash day?"

21. "I need more hangers"

22. "Why do I have 100 T-shirts?"

23. "No, I am not going to get rid of any of my clothes!"

24. "OK, maybe I don't need 20 pairs of black leggings."

25. "Crap, I didn't even unload my winter clothes yet."

26. "Where are all my shoes going to go?"

27. "I need more space."

28. "I hope my neighbors are nice."

29. "I don't want a noise complaint."

31. "Finally, the last box."

32. "Wait, there is another."

33. "I do not want to hang up all my clothes."

34. "I am almost done, and it is starting to come together."

35. "Aw, my room turned out so cute!"

I feel like everyone thinks the same about moving, some has worse experiences than others. Nobody likes to unpack for hours, but it is so fun living in a new place! I love to decorate, so it helps me get through all the hours of packing. I get excited to get on with my life one box at a time! I hope this article makes you smile when you are unpacking or dreading the move to your home!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
