When I first started college, I knew no one. Naturally, my roommate was the most accessible and potential friend in such an unfamiliar place. Randomly assigned roommates don't always work out, but I cannot tell you how lucky I got. After two semesters of living together, she is still the coolest, most thoughtful, and supportive roommate a girl could ask for. Anybody that loves their roommate knows there are about a thousand thank yous that need to be said at the end of the year, but here are 35 for starters.

1. Thank you for being my first and best friend in college.

2. For listening to me complain about my classes.

3. For watching dumb TV shows with me on Netflix.

4. For giving great advice.

5. For staying up late talking even though we both have early class.

6. For always being down to get food with me.

7. For leaving me notes when you left town for the weekend.

8. For having riveting discussions about the multiverse.

9. For introducing me to the multiverse.

10. For geeking out with me.

11. For buying me Capri Sun.

12. For being just as messy as I am and being totally chill about it.

13. For supporting me in everything I did.

14. For asking about my day.

15. For going to fun things like painting classes with me.

16. For understanding and accepting my weirdness.

17. For being weird, too.

18. For letting me borrow your stuff.

19. For contributing to my sock collection.

20. For never waking me up in the morning.

21. For being really chill about me waking you up in the morning.

22. For having the best conversations.

23. For introducing me to cool TV shows.

24. For noticing when I was upset.

25. For caring.

26. For letting me Facetime my family in the room for hours.

27. For going on adventures with me.

28. For allowing me to be myself.

29. For finally responding to the Facebook message I sent you before we even met.

30. For cracking me up.

31. For making memories with me.

32. For forcing me to watch horror movies.

33. For being extremely considerate.

34. For reading my mind (almost).

35. For being you.

I am beyond thankful for the roommate I was assigned and the amazing friend I've made. I'm glad I went random because I could not have picked anyone better.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
