As you have probably heard me say or have seen me mention in my previous articles, my best friends at school are truly some of the greatest, funniest, most genuine, smartest, and kindest people I have ever met. There's no way I would love Providence as much as I do if they weren't a part of my life here at school. I remember being so nervous about making friends at school when I was applying and making college decisions about two years ago. I was nervous about being able to find friends and about how those friends would be once I dd find them. Little did I know then that I had absolutely nothing to worry about. There are so many things I need to thank them for and I probably don't say thank you as much as I should.

Anyway pals, if you're reading this (you know who you are), here it goes ...

1. Thank you for keeping me calm when I'm stressed.

2. Thanks for making my smile a little brighter.

3. Thank you for dealing with my weird self.

4. Thanks for letting me vent and complain.

5. Thank you for making meals at school so much fun.

6. Thank you for not complaining when I talk in my sleep.

7. ...Or when I keep my fan on in the winter.

8. Thanks for all the laughs.

9. Thanks for always encouraging me.

10. Thanks for always being down for an adventure.

11. ...But thanks for also being down to just relax and stay in.

12. Thanks for politely nodding and listening whenever I say how something (everything) is better in Brooklyn.

13. Thanks for sharing yourselves with me and expanding my horizons.

14. Thanks for giving me fashion advice.

15. Thank you for being so (brutally) honest with me.

16. Thanks for listening.

17. Thanks for all the life chats.

18. Thanks for being there through thick and thin wherever and whenever I need you.

19. Thanks for being my study partners.

20. Thank you for believing in me, especially when I don't believe in myself.

21. Thanks for always knowing the right thing to say or do.

22. Thanks for comforting me when I'm homesick.

23. Thanks for always keeping the group chat interesting.

24. Thanks for making hell weeks a little better.

25. Thanks for all the coffee and snack dates.

26. Thanks for always being ready to hear a story about my family, especially my adorable little cousin.

27. Thank you for teaching me.

28. Thanks for looking out for me.

29. Thanks for being the first people I want to text when something good (or bad) happens.

30. Thanks for keeping me optimistic.

31. Thank you for always being down to eat too much pizza and junk food.

32. Thanks for always checking in.

33. Thank you for all the jokes that never get old.

34. Thanks for reminding me that I'm never alone.

35. And finally, thanks for making PC my home away from home.

xoxo

We don't buy into these... just like how we don't buy our friends.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
