Sylvania, Ohio a nice little suburb of Toledo, Ohio that is full of construction and boredom. Sylvania and Toledo are used interchangeably by almost everyone, but there is a slight difference. We all grow up here constantly expressing how much we hate it, but let's be real here, Sylvania isn't that bad. Deep down, everyone has love for the suburb.

1. #ZW7

Rest in peace, Zach.

2. You went to the quarry EVERY weekend

In middle school—oh, the memories.

3. Tam-O-Shanter open skate

Why not go to open skate when there is nothing else to do in the winter. You probably tried to start a snowball fight while you were there at one point, or was that just me?

4. Northview vs. Southview rivalry

This is rivalry starts in elementary school.

(Even though we all know Southview is better, cougs up).

5. Roundabouts

You really can't drive anywhere without encountering at least one, and yet some people still have no idea how to drive through them.

6. You were split up from your friends at one point

One of the worst parts about the school district having so many different schools.

7. Ohio Skate

You felt so cool going indoor skating on the weekends. One of your friends probably had a birthday party there, too.

8. You've hung out at Wal-Mart for fun

What else is there to do?

9. Mr. Freeze

Opening day at Mr. Freeze marks the beginning of summer.

10. Speedway slushies

Only 89 cents in the summer.

11. J & Gs Pizza

Thin crust pepperoni, please!

12. The hype over Southview finally having a football field

It was long overdue, and we all agree sharing a field was not pleasant.

13. You hate driving through Ottawa Hills

Are you going 26 mph in a 25 mph? Yep, pulled over.

14. You played soccer in elementary school

It was unheard of not to.

15. You had at least one friend who worked at Taco Bell

Probably the Central Avenue location.

16. Or you worked at Taco Bell

Maybe even the Alexis Road location.

17. Gibbs Bridge

No one can ever seem to agree on what exactly happened on the bridge, but everyone has a story about their time seeing a ghost.

18. Having to drive to another city for concerts

It seems that the only major artist that will play at The Huntington or anywhere close is Luke Bryan—for anyone else you have to drive at least an hour away.

19. You spent senior skip day at Cedar Point

And physics day.

20. You go to multiple Mud Hens games during the summer

Major league love for a minor league team.

21. Driving up to Ann Arbor so you can shop at the good stores

Where is the petition for the mall to get an Urban Outfitters, LuLu Lemon and Nordstrom?

22. You did NOT want to attend University of Toledo

It is the equivalent to overpriced, glorified high school.

23. Or maybe you did

It does make a lot of sense, financially.

24. Everyone had corn hole at their graduation party

Or any outdoor event, really.

25. Going to the Lights Before Christmas at the Toledo Zoo with your significant other

Don't forget to take a cute couple picture in front of the giant tree and post it on Instagram!

26. Or maybe you went with your best friends

Still don't forget to take a picture in front of the giant tree!

27. You know the Toledo Walleye "Suit Up (T-Town Hockey)" song by heart

HIT SOMEBODY!

28. You remember when it was the Toledo Storm

The Walleye is not as intimidating as The Storm.

29. You don't remember a time when Central Avenue wasn't under construction

Those orange construction barrels must be cemented onto the street.

30. You took your prom pictures at The Toledo Museum of Art

Be there at 4 o'clock sharp.

31. Or the Toledo Botanical Gardens

Still have to be there at 4 o'clock.

32. Snow days are for sledding on the Northview hill

Was it even a snow day if sledding down the hill didn't happen?

33. At least one of your friends has a cottage

Probably on Devils Lake.

34. You had three options when hanging out with friends

"Lets hang out—what should we do?"

"Well, there's the mall, we could see a movie or go get food."

35. You wouldn't have wanted to grow up anywhere else

The SYL will always be home.

I've known you your entire life. More than likely I held you in the first three days of it and at least one of us cried. Cousins are truly one of the best things in the world and while sometimes I complain about how many people crowd Grandma's living room on Christmas Eve, I wouldn't trade you all anything.

You are my best friends, the only people who can understand what it's like on Thanksgiving, and you are the spunkiest people I have ever met. But you as so so young, most of you are just now starting your adventures in the public education system. I mean, I'm so very young too. I'm not married, I don't have children, heck, I just started my adult life, but I do want to give you what little advice I have. My dears, these are the things I want you to know.

ORHS Graduation
Kristen Sack, ORHS Graduation

You are a senior in high school, you have made it to the final year that you have been looking forward to since the first day of freshman year. Whether this has been the worst or best four years of your life, appreciate it. You will never have these times back, you will never be in high school again. It is hard for someone still in high school to wrap their brain around, but there will be a day when you wish you could be in the shoes you're in right now. Here are 15 things I have learned being in college that I wish I knew as a high school senior:

Many people think that this show is the best thing they've ever watched and others won't bother watching it because they know they'll get hooked. The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.
