Not only have you been there for the hardest times, but I've had some of my happiest moments with you by my side.

We haven't known each other for our entire lives, but it feels like we have. In the short time we have been close, you have helped me through some of the most difficult times of my life. From my grandmother's passing, to working a job that I thought was impossible to get through, you have given me feet to stand on when I couldn't find my own. Not only have you been there for the hardest times, but I've had some of my happiest moments with you by my side. I could go on forever about all of the reasons I am thankful for you, but I don't have that kind of time, so here are 35 of the important ones.

1. Thank you for never judging me.

2. Thank you for never making me make a bad decision alone.

3. Thank you for never making me feel stupid about being sensitive.

4. Thank you for watching trashy reality TV with me.

5. Thank you for third wheeling with my boyfriend and I.

6. Thank you for always inviting me to things, and genuinely wanting me to come.

7. Thank you for going on adventures with me.

8. Thank you for going out with me when I know you don't always want to.

9. Thank you for sharing my love for ice cream.

10. Thank you for always being down to order pizza.

11. Thank you for always giving me a shoulder to cry on (literally).

12. Thank you for sharing your closet with me.

13. Thank you for taking care of me when I'm sick.

14. Thank you for making me dinner when I'm busy.

15. Thank you for always taking my side when I need it.

16. Thank you for keeping me humble when I really am wrong.

17. Thank you for acting like a man with me.

18. Thank you for laughing at my jokes when they aren't funny.

19. Thank you for letting me eat in your bed while we watch cheesy Rom-Coms.

20. Thank you for convincing me to be more confident in myself.

21. Thank you for always offering a solution when I can't see one myself.

22. Thank you for supporting my dreams.

23. Thank you for making me care a little less what everyone thinks of me.

24. Thank you for getting along with my other friends and becoming friends with them, too.

25. Thank you for introducing me to your friends and making them mine too.

26. Thank you for awkward dancing with me.

27. Thank you for buying me candles that you know you'll have to smell even though you don't like them.

28. Thank you for always being honest with me.

29. Thank you for doing dumb poses for pictures with me, especially when I make you pose for like

31. Thank you for listening to me rant about my job.

32. Thank you for letting me be high maintenance.

33. Thank you for buying your clothes with me in mind.

34. Thank you for never getting and staying mad at me.

35. Thank you for being so unapologetically you.

I am so grateful to have found a forever friend in you. You're definitely the hot fudge to my peppermint ice cream: I wouldn't be as good without you. You are beautiful and strong inside and out and I am so lucky to have you by my side. Finally, thank you for showing me how to truly enjoy my college years!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.
