35 Questions I Have For SUNY Fredonia

In what world does it make sense for El Diablo Azul to be closed during the weekends?

35 Questions I Have For SUNY Fredonia
SUNY Fredonia

I've only been on the SUNY Fredonia campus for one semester, but I already have a ton of questions-- some serious, and some note so much, for SUNY Fredonia, that my fellow peers may or may not have as well:

1. Why is the health center closed on the weekends and why does it close so early during the week?

2. Why is the Starbucks on campus so overpriced? (Aka, twice the price of a normal Starbucks location).

3. Why does the Campus Community Bus stop running at 5:30 on a normal day?

4. Why is there no bus that goes Downtown after 11?

5. Why won't the Escort bus take you off campus? Even if it's not Downtown?

6. Why isn't El Diablo open on weekend?

7. Why does El Diablo close by 8?

8. Why is a travel sized deodorant more expensive in the C-Store than a full sized deodorant?

9. Why does the library close so early on the weekends?

10. Why does the library open late on the weekends?

11. Why does TeaRex close around 4 or 5, yet there are classes in the Science Center that don't start until after that (5:30)?

12. Why are the class registration times so spaced out? Like freshman should not have to wait like two weeks after everyone else to register. (I registered early, but still.)

13. Why does it seem like every professor has office hours during the most common class times?

14. Why isn't the C-Store open 24/7?

15. Why does the C-Store sell Panera soups and Macaroni and Cheese for more than Panera does?

16. Why don't freshman buildings have A/C?

17. Why are only TADA majors allowed to use the space in RAC, instead of extending it to all dance and performance groups on campus?

18. Why does all the rice on campus seem undercooked, no matter where you get it?

19. Why do the suite quads have fire alarms virtually every night, but it seems as if the corridor buildings only had one fire drill this semester?

20. Why does is Nixon so injury prone?

21. Why was one of the washing machines in Nixon broken for literally the whole semester?

22. Why is there always a huge line for Tim Hortons?

23. Why is there a $0.39 service charge on every single Tapingo order?

24. Why doesn't every cashier ask if you want to use points or debit?

25. Why can't you use double meals at places other than Willy's?

26. Why does the wi-fi always seem to have an issue?

27. Why don't you advertise non-department events on campus more? In other words, give more promotion to events put on by the different student groups.

28. Why do try to force books from the bookstore onto us when you know damn well we can get that $100 textbook on Amazon for $10?

29. Why are the Townhouses so far from the center of campus?

30. Why do some of the RAs take pride in calling UP on their residents?

31. Why are some professors allowed to change the final time for their course? Some people base their travel arrangements around the original schedule.

32. Why is the bus ride to Buffalo almost always 30 minutes longer than it's supposed to be (according to the schedule)?

33. Why isn't there a requirement for all professors to have their required booklist and syllabus on OnCourse for a certain amount of time before the semester starts?

34. Why isn't it required for professors to use OnCourse and its grade book?

35. Why don't professors let you know that most of the online programs that they require have an eBook version of the textbook included? Like why pay $140 for a new textbook with a code in it when you can get the online program for $60 and get an eBook version and just print out the individual pages that you need physical copies of.

These are just some of the questions that I've had from this past semester. Comment below any questions you might have.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
