Greenville, SC is a growing city in the Upstate. It is best known for Downtown Greenville and the attractions that go with it. Even though it's a growing city, it still seems small, and no matter where you go, you will run into someone you know. If you’ve lived in Greenville, you can relate to these things.

1. You know the chaos that is Woodruff Road

Woodruff Road is the road that you think could never get any busier, but then somehow it manages to do so. It’s the road that keeps having restaurants and businesses added to it, and it never seems to be quiet. You learn to avoid it at all costs, especially during the holiday season and during rush hour because it's hell.

2. You still call the Bon Secour Wellness Arena the BI-LO Center

Even though it changed owners and the name changed as well, it will always be the BI-LO Center to you.

3. You’ll always remember Freedom Weekend Aloft

Even though it was cancelled a few years back for budgetary problems, you’ll never forget the countless weekends you spent watching the hot air balloons fly right over your head and the bands that performed. It was devastating for all when the festival was cancelled.

4. You’ve spent countless weekends exploring the Falls Downtown

You can never get enough of the pretty views of the Reedy River Falls. There's always something going on and you can sit there for hours just watching the placid waters.

5. Happy Cow Creamery is the best place to get milk and cheese

You can never get enough milk and cheese and what’s better than fresh milk and cheese? Absolutely nothing. They have the best damn milk and cheese known to man.

6. You’re either a Clemson Fan or a USC Fan

Although they both are close to Greenville, most people are a fan of one and hate the other.

7. You’ve gone hiking at Paris Mountain

Paris Mountain is one of the most peaceful places around Greenville.

8. So many festivals

You know all of the festivals going on. There’s Artistsphere, Fall for Greenville, the Greek Festival and so many more. You end up attending all of them because it’s a great way to spend time and get more involved in the city.

9. You’ve watched a sunrise at Pretty Place

Pretty Place is probably the prettiest place you’ve been and watching the sunrise is a must if you live in Greenville. You may even know someone who has been married there.

10. You’ve seen the Roper Mountain Holiday Lights

Every November or December you go to see the lights because it's a must every year.

11. You always had field trips to the Peace Center or Roper Mountain Science Center growing up

Every year you had field trips to both, and whether you went to learn new things about science or you went to see the orchestra, you were just happy to have a day off of actual school.

12. You love the Roper Mountain Roller Coaster

Let’s face it. The best part of the field trips to Roper Mountain was the Virtual Roller Coaster, and every time you walk into the planetarium, you just can’t wait.

13. You know the Medusa Tree and have tried to climb it

Every time you go Downtown you see the big tree with the huge, intertwined roots by the Reedy River, and, as a kid, you tried to climb it.

14. You still get lost in Haywood Mall

Honestly, when there’s nothing to do, you end up at the mall, so with all the times you’ve been there, you’d think you’d know your way around; you still get lost.

15. You listen to Hawk and Tom everyday

Hawk and Tom are basically celebrities and you can’t get enough of the Torture Tuesdays and Prank Calls. You always tune in to see what crazy thing they’ll make Cato do next.

16. Good luck getting into the Cheesecake Factory

When it opened, the Cheesecake Factory was always packed. There was always a line out the door. Almost a year after the grand opening, it’s still always packed and most of the time, you need a reservation to get in.

17. Bad traffic, worse drivers

If you think the traffic is bad, just check out the drivers. From not using a signal light to going either 20 over the speed limit or 20 under to cutting people off to stopping randomly, the drivers in Greenville are the worst.

18. You’ve seen every Joel Bieber commercial and heard every Jay Gilstrap commercial

Every time you turn on the television, you hear "Hi, I'm Joel Bieber" and every time you turn on the radio, you hear "Jay Gilstrap here from the Gilstrap Family Dealership" and it makes you want to scream into your pillow.

19. If there’s a chance of snow, it’s like the apocalypse

If there’s a 25% chance of snow, odds are school will be cancelled and if you don't get your milk and bread soon, you'll probably starve.

20. Why’d they change the name of the Road Warriors?

The Swamp Rabbits are such an intimidating name for a hockey team. All the other teams probably cower when they hear the name.

21. Remember Kiko the Baby Giraffe?

Kiko was the baby giraffe that was born in the Greenville Zoo. Everyone watched on the webcams for days because it was such a miraculous experience.

22. You’ve seen Mice on Main

Mice on Main is a fun thing to do, especially for younger kids, but if you’ve been Downtown, you’ve seen a few mice whether you were looking for them or not.

23. You know all the great places to eat downtown

From Tupelo Honey to Smoke on the Water to Larson’s on the River and so many more, you know that Downtown Greenville is food heaven.

24. You’ve been to the Swamp Rabbit Trail or Lake Conestee Nature Park

Staying active is a great way to be healthy and what better way to do so then by biking, running or rollerblading down one of these trails?

25. You’ve used the hashtag #yeahthatgreenville

Yeah that Greenville is the hashtag that started trending in Greenville a few years back. Every time you do something fun or exciting in Greenville, you can use the hashtag.

26. You know all the best places to get coffee

The Exchange Co. (which is in Simpsonville, but worth the drive), Coffee Underground and Spill the Beans are just a few of the must go coffee shops in Greenville.

27. Simpsonville Sings!

Is a must attend event. Although it a few minute drive from Greenville, it is well worth going to Simpsonville Sings! to experience all of Greenville County.

28. Shakespeare in the Park

Every year, a cast performs different Shakespeare plays. It is always a joy to watch.

29. You’ve Watched a Drive Game in Fluor Field

Fluor Field is a great place to watch a baseball game. The stadium is very nice, there’s decent food in the stadium and tickets are not insanely expensive. It’s a fun thing to do with your friends on a nice day.

30. You visit the Ice Cream Station Regularly

Although in Simpsonville, the Ice Cream Station offers the best ice cream you can buy. They have many options and toppings, and the ice cream is always made perfectly.

31. You wonder when will I-85 be complete

If you live in Greenville, you know that I-85 has been a working progress for years and there is barely any improvement.

32. The roads are awful

The potholes are plenty and the smooth, well-paved roads are few. If you're riding a motorcycle, I pity you.

33. Although you complain, you love it

Although you complain about Greenville, you love the city, and you wouldn't change anything about it.

Greenville is one of the best cities in South Carolina. There are so many things to do and to explore. These were a few things you could relate to if you're from Greenville.
