I don't want to tell you what to do, just making suggestions.

32 Things You Could Do This Summer

I thought about titling this article “32 Things You Should Do This Summer.” But the more I thought about it I decided that the school year is the time for things you “should” do or that you “have” to do. So instead I’m leaving this up to you. Chances are if you’re scrolling through Facebook and now reading this you’re bored. Some of these things will help with that.

  1. Go outside.
  2. But actually go outside as much as you can.
  3. Read a book.
  4. If you can’t think of something to read, ask your mom or dad. They might surprise you with a good choice and it’ll make them happy.
  5. Re-read one of your old favorite series. Harry Potter, Sarah Dessen, "Game of Thrones," maybe even "The Clique"!
  6. Wash your hair less, put on less makeup, don’t straighten or curl. You’re cute without it anyway.
  7. Don’t stop showering. Soap is very important.
  8. Stay hydrated and wear sunscreen.
  9. But let yourself get that one bad sun burn.
  10. Get a job!
  11. Get a hobby! Drawing, knitting and fencing all seem fun.
  12. Exercise!
  13. Or don’t exercise!
  14. Rent/buy all your books now while you have time to find the best deals.
  15. Talk to your family, try to have dinner with them or walk the dog together! They might be crazy but you’re stuck with them.
  16. Learn to use the grill (If you trust yourself with fire and heavy machinery).
  17. Bake something from scratch.
  18. Go to the grocery store for your mom.
  19. Call your Grandma! She might have a funny story about Bridge Club.
  20. Call your Aunt! She might have a funny story about your Grandma.
  21. Turn your phone all the way off. This will actually help your battery life last longer! Plus when you turn it back on you'll have a lot of notifications and feel loved.
  22. Paint your nails.
  23. Paint your room.
  24. Go to a farmer’s market or local fair! Eat something organic!
  25. Binge watch a comedy instead of your usual "Gossip Girl," "Vampire Diaries" or "One Tree Hill." I highly suggest "The Office," "Parks and Rec," or "New Girl."
  26. Have a bonfire! (Once again if you trust yourself with fire).
  27. Play card games, they are seriously underrated and actually a lot of fun.
  28. Find your favorite spot in town to watch the sunset.
  29. After you find that find your favorite place to look at the stars.
  30. Call or FaceTme your friends from school instead of texting.
  31. Send someone a letter!
  32. Try to go an entire day without saying the following “I’m bored,” “I miss school” or “I miss my friends.”
  33. Try sitting and doing absolutely nothing for 30 minutes. (Seriously try this one it’s really hard, yes this is a direct challenge.)
  34. Just do whatever makes you happy!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
