If you are or ever were a wrestler, then you live life a certain way. Maybe your family has a wrestler in it, or more likely several wrestlers in it. Regardless, your day-to-day life was no stranger to weird dieting habits and early mornings. Wrestling is always a family affair, and it's not just a sport. It's a lifestyle.
1. You didn't know what "sleeping in" was because you never did it.
2. You did, however, learn to sleep in weird places.
Stuffed in between to bleacher benches, in the aisle of a bus, or on a hard gym floor with no pillow. It's an art, really.3. You were an expert at packing your cooler.
4. Peanut butter and honey sandwiches ran through your veins.
5. You even still crave them from time to time.
6. You may or may not have road tripped to super cool places for Nationals.
Like... uhh... North Dakota? Only the coolest state in the whole country?7. You might have had a wrestling mat in your basement.
You totally did.
8. You always have fingernail clippers with you.
9. ALWAYS.
10. Obviously, you dabbled in wrestling yourself.
11. You knew all the big names by heart (and still do).
Ken Chertow, Dan Gable, you get it.12. You could tell a wrestler just by looking at his (or her) ears.
13. You grew accustomed to losing your voice from yelling in the bleachers.
No one could hear you regardless, but it's the effort that counts.14. You knew what to bring to occupy the time between matches.
It could be a pillow for naps, toys, or homework, depending on how you felt.
15. You definitely knew how to keep book.
16. Sweat never really bothered you.
17. Neither did blood.
18. You totally know at least one person that can't sit still during a match.
If you don't, it's you.
19. You would discuss singlet styles at length.
20. You saw more reversible singlets than you can count, but mainly on little kids.
21. Little kids in wrestling singlets will never not be cute to you.
22. You have a distinct preference of beef jerky flavors.
A must-have at any tournament, really.
