So you treated yourself to a Fitbit in an attempt to achieve that summer bod (although you haven’t stepped foot on a treadmill, or the gym in general in… three… months). But, you promise yourself that you’re turning over a new leaf. Come to find out, getting in shape is all fun and games until you actually have to put in the effort. But don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Here are some (easy) ways to get that 10,000 step goal!
- Take your dog for a walk
- Take the stairs instead of the elevator
- Walk around your house while watching TV
- Play “Just Dance”
- Walk around Target (because we all spend hours in there)
- Make small trips while carrying in the groceries so you have to go back and forth five times
- Run away from the bee buzzing around your head
- Get the mail
- Enter the Workweek Hustle Challenge
- Pretend your basement is a nightclub and dance the night away
- Move your arm as if you’re walking (but really you’re sitting on the couch)
- Put the activity tracker on your dog
- Go on a shopping spree
- Walk to get ice cream
- Frantically run in place at 11:50 pm in an effort to reach your goal
- Do a “fashion show” of your entire wardrobe
- Pace around the room while anxiously awaiting a text from your boyfriend
- Park far away from the store entrance
- Clean the house (my mom suggested this one…)
- Get up and moving once an hour
- Go biking with your tracker on your ankle
- Tap your foot nonstop while sitting down
- Play the piano
- Clap
- Over exaggerate your arm expressions when talking
- Change your setting to “Non-Dominant” but actually wear it on your dominant hand
- Pace while talking on the phone
- Pace while doing homework
- Basically never sit down ever again
- Actually work out?
- Lower your step goal
Bonus: some of these tips also double as Fitbit hacks. Yeah, it’s cheating, but at least you’re hitting that goal, right!?
