It's official: I'm an adult. I just started my first full-time internship and the experience is extremely rewarding (so far). I love the feeling of having a job and being productive. But with that, I've come to realize that my summer is basically over (so long, weekday partying), amongst other things. Here is my list of 31 things you that happen when you start working full time:

1. You suddenly become very aware of the time of day.
2. Sundays become the second worst days of the week.

3. Monday being the first.
4. Time passes much slower throughout the day.
5. You value your weekends so much more.
6. And they never feel long enough.

7. Summer days by the pool become a thing of the past.
8. You become able to wake up without an alarm.
9. The need to budget your time, and money becomes important.
10. You fall into a very strict schedule.
11. You feel much more productive waking up early.

12. Your morning commute becomes your “me” time.
13. The fact that you have to spend money to get to work every day makes you angry.
14. It feels good to be motivated and get work done every day.
15. You begin to, either, love or hate your coworkers.
16. And you have to see them every day for several hours at a time.
17. Your parents constantly say, “I told you so,” when you complain.

18. Full time classes at school suddenly seem like a much easier time than a 9 to 5 work schedule.
19. Direct deposit is not nearly as satisfying as cashing a check.
20. You become much more aware of how you spend your money.
21. Because it feels like a lot more effort to earn it.
22. You start to feel like an established adult.

24. Coffee becomes your new best friend.

26. You start to go to bed super early.
27. You hate taxes even more than before.
