The official countdown has begun. March 22nd was the first day of Spring. And though there was recently an accumulation of about six to seven inches of snow here in Philadelphia, my heart still yearns for summer days.

With the bitter cold and nor'easter-filled winter we've unfortunately encountered, I'd say it's time for a transition to "better days," as I like to call them. I plan on spending the next two and a half months reminiscing on summer things.

Here's 31 reasons why summer is better than winter, and also 31 reasons why I just love summer in general.

1. No more cold leather seats.

2. Kiss that cold after-the-shower-wrath GOODBYE.

3. Blistex won't be a necessity anymore...

4. ...and neither will your tanning membership.

5. You'll no longer confined to your bed, binge-watching Netflix.

6. No more eating your weight in snacks due to boredom.

7. Or drinking, for that matter.

8. There isn't a drop of snow on the ground.

9. Summer clothes > Winter clothes.

10. All of the good fruit is in season.

11. Playa Bowls are A1, once again.

12. Socks are barely needed in the summer.

13. Seasonal ice cream/Italian ice places re-open

14. The beach!

15. The beach at night!

16. The sun doesn't set till like 8 pm. Bye seasonal depression.

17. BBQs.

18. Day drinks.

19. Driving with the windows down, blasting music.

20. Better music in general.

21. Outdoor concerts.

22. Late-night bonfires without freezing your a** off.

23. No school.

24. More sleep.

25. More free time.

26. Everyone is home from school.

27. More time with family.

28. Fairs

29. Fair Foods

30. Sleeping in a controlled freezing room is extremely different than just sleeping in a freezing room.

31. Freedom.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
