31 Reasons To Be Excited About Fall
Business Insider

It's that time of year; the leaves are changing, the air is getting chilly, and it's dark by 6 pm. I can't believe it, it's finally here... FALL! It's finally time to put away the shorts and the flip-flops in exchange for the boots and cozy sweaters. As if this wasn't enough already to get you excited for the change of season, here are 50 reasons why you should get excited for the fall.

1. Leaves change

Honestly, this is the most beautiful time of the year, especially if you live in Western PA, somewhere in the mountains, it's truly breathtaking.

2. Air is colder

I mean I love getting tan like the rest of you, but I hate sweating and I hate being hot, so fall is like perfect for me.

3. Thanksgiving

It's without a doubt my favorite holiday, what is better than sitting around with family eating until you can't move? Nothing, that's the answer.

4. Thanksgiving food

Mashed potatoes, stuffing, ham, turkey, gravy, pumpkin pie, need I go on? Thanksgiving food is literally the best thing to ever happen to the world.

5. Pumpkin everything

Now I don't like coffee, so the Pumpkin Spice Lattes don't mean much to me, but apparently they're really good. Hand me a pumpkin pie or a pumpkin gob and I'll be happy.

6. Fall scents

Bath and Body Works (shout out) has THE best fall scents ever, so I recommend you go out and buy yourself a Wall flower and pick up those perfect fall scents. I personally recommend Caramel Pumpkin Swirl, Buttercream icing, and Sweater Weather.

7. Candles

Even though we can't have them in the dorms, nothing screams fall like candles, especially the big 3-wick ones from B&B for $12! (I promised bath and body did not sponsor this article) Chilly nights demand candles, it just adds to the essence of it, and who doesn't love candles?

8. Corn mazes

There is no better fall date night than getting all dressed up and going to a corn maze with bae. Go with a group and make it a competition to see who can get out first.

9. Hay rides

Yet another perfect date night, guys take notes.

10. Pumpkin patches

Honestly guys, invite a girl to a pumpkin patch or any other fall themed date and she'll be yours, forever.

11. Haunted houses/ haunted hayrides

I hate being scared, but if you're into that sort of thing, go for it.

12. Halloween

Carving, candy, and costumes, need I say more?

13. Halloween themed nights at amusement parks

From Kennywood to Six Flags to Carowinds, virtually every amusement park in the country does some kind of "fright night". Nothing better than to have two reasons for screaming your head off in a theme park.

14. Carving pumpkins

Even though its gross, we've been doing it since we were kids, so why not embrace the tradition.

15. Candy corn

Most people hate it, but my mom and I love it. But only the pumpkins and the regular candy corn (orange, white, and yellow), I don't trust the ones with brown in it....

16. Apple cider

Nothing completes a fall outing like a warm cup of apple cider, or a cold bottle of Angry Orchard, whatever your prefer.

17. Fall festivals

They're a big thing in PA, but they are just the perfect way to spend a fall afternoon.

18. High school football games

Let's go HC Wildcats! I'll see you Friday for homecoming.

19. College football games

WE ARE PENN STATE!!!!!

20. Professional football games

Honestly, fall is just a great time for my favorite sport to watch. Here We Go! Steelers in Superbowl 51!! Nothing is better than a NFL sunday.

21. Boots

From UGGS to combat boots, nothing completes a fall outfit quite like them.

22. Flannels

If you are like me, all you own are flannels, so fall is just an excuse to wear one every day of the week and not feel judged.

23. Jeans

Best thing about wearing jeans? Girls no longer have to shave their legs everyday, which to me is a win in itself. (American Eagle has them on sale right now buy one, get one half off, shout out to Store 251)

24. Cozy sweaters

Nothing feels better on a cold day than wrapping yourself up in a big, cozy sweater, its frankly my favorite part about the whole season.

25. Fuzzy socks

My feet are literally cold 24/7, so fall is my time to break out the warm socks and not take them off until May.

26. My birthday

This is for all those kids who could never have swimming pool birthday parties as kids. I feel for you, so let's all celebrate.

27. College soccer season

Even though I still don't understand the sport, its always good to get out and support my babe. Go #5!

28. String lights

These are kind of a fall/Christmas thing, but I love soft lighting all year round, so it works.

29. Halloween movies

Yet another amazing date night that's assuming you have a Netflix membership, or there is a Family Video near by.

30. Going home

Homecoming is the best reason to go home, see family and friends. Not to mention getting a week off for Thanksgiving break.

31. Black Friday

It's a great event, unless you're the one who is behind the counter working. Be respectful this holiday season, and go out and get those deals.

To me, there is no better season than Fall, its the perfect time to relax and enjoy life before the crazy holiday season comes around. So step away from the Christmas countdown calendar and enjoy the leaves, they aren't here for long, so love them while they last.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
