A lot of things happen in college. New people, new experiences, new city even. Good or bad these memories will last a long time.

Throughout my first year at college I:

1. Went to Walmart at 2 am.

2. Went a whole week without crying.

3. Went a whole week where I cried every day.

4. Participated on a college athletic team that went to the NCAA DIII National Tournament.

5. Became a Content Creator for Odyssey.

6. Became the Community Health Manager for the Luther Odyssey Community.

7. Became co-Video/Production lead of Luther's first TEDx conference in fall 2017.

8. Ate a lot of fruit snacks.

9. Lost a lot of sleep.


10. Met some really great people.

11. Also met some not so great people.

12. Learned how to live with a stranger.

13. Failed a test.

14. Got an A on a test.

15. Stayed up all night to help a friend.

16. Accidentally slept through a class.

17. Got a better grasp of my mental health.

18. Left school for a week because of my mental health.

19. Fell asleep listening to a thunderstorm.

20. Experienced my first college party.

21. Learned that I'm not a partier.

22. Watched a significant amount of Netflix.

23. Spent a significant amount of time outside supporting my friends and fellow athletes.

24. Dyed my hair blue.

25. Got my first piercings.

26. Declared my major as Communication Studies.

27. Missed my pets.

28. Learned how to get ready in four minutes.

29. Got a cool work study job.

30. Passed my classes.

31. Survived.

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
