Every once in a while, we all think that the world is crashing down around us, and we don’t know how to stop it. Below, a list of 30 things is compiled that can help lift your spirits, and help you to understand that even when you think the worst is about to come, there will always be things that can make you feel a bit better.

1.Tackle a big project you’ve been meaning to accomplish

When something is weighing heavily on your mind, sometimes the best thing to do is reduce stress by tackling it head on. Try working at a big task to relieve some tension.

2. Make a nice meal for yourself

Some home cooking is all it takes to put you in a better mood, especially if you were just grumpy because you were hungry.

3. Make a list

A great way to organize some of the chaos in your life, and helps to relax you when you see the things you need to get done laid out in front of you.

4. Call a friend

A good way to catch up with someone you haven’t seen recently, and to bounce ideas and thoughts off of, and hopefully they can make you laugh!

5. Enjoy a nap

In order to wake up feeling refreshed.

6. Light some candles and take a bath

Aromatherapy and quiet time can do wonders.

7. Buy someone you love a present

The smile on their face will make it all worth it.

8. Or splurge- buy yourself a present

The smile on your face will make it all worth it.

9. Pet an animal

Because the cuteness has to make you feel better!

10. Take a long drive

When I want to clear my head, I take a long drive to look at beautiful scenery and get away from my problems.

11. Read a good book

A way to escape reality for a little while.

12. Take a break from social media

I think social media has a way of comparing your life to the lives of others, so when you take a break from it, you don’t have to feel that pressure of ‘keeping up with the Joneses’.

13. Go on a walk or a hike

The fresh air will make you feel brand new.

14. Eat dessert first

You deserve it, and it tastes really really good.

15. Go see a new movie

Something you’ve been dying to do but can never find the time.

16. Ask your parents about their day

Can work to lift the moods of both parties!

17. Play a game with your family

So you can get a little competitive and laugh a lot.

18. Workout

The release of endorphins will give you energy.

19. Clean your room

Removing the clutter from your life will help you organize yourself better.

20. Make your bed

You’ll thank me after your good night’s sleep.

21. Look at family photo albums

A blast from the past to remember the good ol’ days.

22. Go out to dinner

Get your favorite dish at your favorite restaurant.

23. Binge watch your favorite TV show

Because it never gets out.

24. Take a long shower

The warm water will reduce your tension.

25. Go on an adventure, planned or spontaneous

It’ll be a great story to tell.

26. Print off some photos

This will take you back to good times, and push the bad thoughts out of your head.

27. Listen to your favorite music/artist

Whether the music is happy or sad, you love it for a reason.

28. Write

A poem, a story, a letter- all of it helps you by allowing you to express yourself creatively.

29. Bake something

Not only can you improve your skills in the kitchen, but you will end up with a tasty treat afterwards!

30. Finally… cry if you need to

Sometimes the only way to feel better about a situation is to let it all out, and then you can move on once you’ve had your moment.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
