My fellow Odyssey writers, and myself included, from time to time (if not every day) experience writer's block. It is difficult to overcome and we often find ourselves doing other things instead of writing. With that being said, here are thirty things to do when you have writer's block, in no particular order.

1. Watch a rom-com and cry

2. Binge-watch shows you've been pushing off for weeks, if not months

3. Go on a liking spree on Instagram

4. Cyber-stalk your ex

5. Go on a risky scrolling spree of hot Instagram models

6. Watch a horror movie and pee your pants

7. Take a long shower

8. Give yourself a shitty manicure

9. Attempt to follow a YouTube make-up tutorial and fail miserably

10. Watch a 'Try Not To Laugh' compilation

11. Go online shopping

12. Go on a walk down memory lane and relive your regrets

13. Go for a run

14. Do a personal photo-shoot

15. Make a super healthy smoothie

16. Bake a cake

17. Play Green Day's new album on repeat

18. Play Spotify's '80s Hits Playlist on full volume and dance the night away

19. Attempt to do yoga

20. Organize the mess you've been avoiding in your closet

21. Reread one of your favorite books from childhood

22. Play some video games and forget that you own a clock

23. Take an online math test and realize you are not smarter than a fifth grader

24. Teach a family member how to properly use the remote

25. Organize your desk and discover long lost unnecessary trinkets

26. Evaluate your entire existence on this earth and question your purpose

27. Uncover a hidden talent that will prove to be useless

28. Have a philosophical conversation with your dog

29. Watch a “Sex and the City” marathon with a glass of wine and a bowl of popcorn

30. Rediscover your social life and have a 3 hour Skype/Facetime call with an old friend

I’ve done some of these and I’m sure you have too. Don’t worry, you can admit it. We’re all guilty. We’ve all avoided responsibilities and dreaded the task of writing. We’ve found ways to deal with our emotions in unproductive or at least somewhat productive ways. As writers, writer’s block is inevitable; you cannot escape it. It creeps up on you in the worst of times, especially when you have deadlines. But hey- if doing any of the things in this list helps you get inspired, go do it! Writer’s block eventually goes away and that is precisely how I ended up with this piece. So to everyone experiencing writer’s block, I wish you all the best of luck!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
