In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I decided to make a list of 30 things that I am thankful for, one for each day of November. I have a lot to be thankful for.

1. My friends

The world is a lot brighter, happier, funnier, and easier with them by my side. Our jeans are as tight as our friendship, and I am thankful for that.

2. Siblings

Our parents gave me the greatest gift; siblings. I am very thankful for that gift and will cherish that gift.

3. Merry War Theatre Group

I learn something new everyday as an actor, and as a person from MWTG. I feel so humbled and honored to be apart of such a company that is so loving, caring, and home to some of the most remarkable people I will ever know. I don't have a big close family, and this is the next best thing. Each member is a true gem of the arts; who each go beyond the lines and the costumes, but bring something truly special to the stage. I am beyond thankful for them.

4. Theatre

I am thankful for theatre because we do shows about love, our life, and the human condition, and it's something worth to be thankful for to be apart of that experience.

All you need is love..and a dog. I am thankful for all the beautiful four-legged friends that grace us with their existence.

8. My parents

I am thankful for my parents and all the lessons they have and continue to teach me. I am thankful for all the encouragement to pursue everything I ever dream of. I am thankful you let me mold myself, instead of you doing it for me. I am thankful for that freedom, and even more thankful for you both.

9. Books

I am thankful for books because they provide an escape. They allow me to go somewhere I would never be able to get without them. I read to know that I am not alone. Books are a wonderful thing, and I could not be more thankful for them.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
