30 Signs You Went To Saint Mark's High School

If you went to Saint Mark's High School, you definitely remember both the awesome memories and the many struggles of your one-of-a-kind high school experience. There are so many little things that set Saint Mark's apart from every other school in Delaware and make it very unique.

Here are just some of the signs that you went to Saint Mark's:

1. You thought it was completely normal for girls to wear tights under their gym shorts.

2. A day with spicy chicken for lunch was a good day no matter what.

3. So was a day with big cookies.

4. You understood that a dress down day meant that you could only wear a Saint Mark's t-shirt, specific colored sweats or jeans and that yoga pants were NEVER an option.

5. You never understood why you weren't allowed to sit in your car in the parking lot if you got to school early.

6. You owned a Go Green shirt/Spartan Strong.

7. You didn't think it was weird to pray at the beginning of every class (every 45 minutes).

8. You knew that going to "Welcoming Committee" in the morning wasn't exactly a welcoming experience.

9. You didn't mind having mass every month because you jammed out the Hallejulah song and had shortened classes for the rest of the day.

10. You would take the longer route to get to class just so you could walk through fish hallway.

11. It was the end of the world when the start time of school changed from 8:15 a.m. to 8 a.m., and the end time changed from 2:41 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

12. You hated when we had to start wearing lanyards, but did it anyway because they were useful for holding your schedule and your friends' senior pictures.

13. You knew it was a good day if you didn't get caught without a sweater during winter dress code.

14. Seeing your birthday sign on the fence every year reassured you that you had good friends.

15. You understood how serious our rivalry was with Sallies.

16. You were terrified of Ms. Brown at first, but then you realized she's the greatest lady on Earth.

17. You remember waking up at 5 a.m. to hang out with your entire class before school the day of pep rally senior year.

18. If you didn't win the spirt stick your senior year, it was the end of the world for months.

19. You were mad if you didn't exceed the Magazine Drive goal and get an extra day off after Thanksgiving Break.

20. You understood the importance of having a skirt that was the perfect length.

21. You went all out for Welcome Dance every year.

22. You almost got into a car wreck in the parking lot or on the driveway multiple times.

23. You refused to carry around more than two books at a time because having a "freshmen backpack" was frowned upon.

24. You had your backpack "nugged" a few times.

25. You thought it was ridiculous that you got detention for having a rip or run in your tights.

26. You had a designated lunch lady cashier that you went to every day.

27. Having your locker zip tied shut was one of the worst feelings ever.

28. More than half of your graduating class went to college at the University of Delaware.

29. You were eager to donate to the SEAS toy room and reach the goal because you could not stand hearing "Dominick the Donkey" blasted at lunch.

30. You swore you would not miss Saint Mark's after graduation, but sometimes you definitely still do.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
