30 Signs You're A Creighton Student

Located in the heart of Omaha, Nebraska (not a cornfield...) is the #1 U.S. News ranked Midwest Regional University. Name? Creighton University. While far too many people question what's even in Nebraska, the university is filled with elements that create it a home away from home for many others. Here's 30 signs you know you're a one-and-true Creighton Bluejay.

1. "The Mall" is not a place you shop.

2. Nor is the KFC a place where fried chicken is served (but, maybe you'll work off the fried chicken you just ate).

3. Miss Debbie. 'Nuff said.

4. There's a love-hate relationship with the dining hall food. I mean it's unlimited food (& the soft serve ice cream steals the show), but the food in general...

4. You dread the brick path walk on rainy & snowy days.

5. The anticipation you build up before you hear who the headliners are for Fallapalooza and Spring Fling is unreal.

6. There's always some event going on that involves free food.

7. Or free stuff in general.

8. You are guaranteed to see at least one person you're best friends with while walking to class.

9. Late-night cookies at Java Jay can become a real addiction.

10. You question where all the new people in the library come from during midterms and finals.

People know because they usually sit in the same general area most of the semester.

11. You quickly learned to take advantage of sleeping in as a freshman/sophomore because classes were only a 5-minute walk away.

12. You applaud anyone who has the courage to go through the "F door" on test day.

I'll say a prayer for your grade.

13. If you're in a theology class and you sneeze, you're guaranteed more than a few people saying, "bless you!"

14. When people say they haven't gone to a basketball game before you stare at them in awe.

What are you doing with your life...?

15. Shoutout to the desk receptionists who don't make you pay a fee when you get locked out of your room.

16. You get week long fall and spring breaks.

17. Plus an Easter break. Breaks on breaks on breaks.

18. You wore your lanyard and blue game day shirts as a freshman and didn't think twice about it.

Don't judge. We all had that moment once.

19. Well-dressed Wednesday [nights].

20. Christmas at Creighton is one of the most wonderful times of the year.

21. You have accumulated a large mass of free shirts in a very short amount of time.

22. You're not sure what to do with all the free stuff you just got. You just know you have it.

23. You underestimate how hot it can get walking from Harper to Rigge on a hot day.

Then you add on running late to class? Bad news...

24. Your "basic white girl dream" has come true with the addition of Starbucks to campus.

25. Sassy Seth can make any bad day slightly better.

26. You know the running jokes of Professor Stone and how (apparently) every girl seems to adore him.

27. You're impressed with the amount of people who dress up for class on a daily basis.

28. We've met once....twice? We're now best friends and I'll gladly add you to all my forms of social media.

29. "Walk signal to cross 24th Street is now on....walk signal to cross 24th Street is now on...Walk signal to cr---"

30. You know everyone on campus truly cares about you.

Bob's Burgers

College is a time of gaining independence, exploring new things, and copious amounts of Netflix. If you're like me, you often find yourself laughing at the sheer ridiculousness of the situations you find yourself in. Here are ten times Bob's Burgers accurately captured college life.

1. What you're pretty sure your upstairs neighbors do at 3am every morning.

Supportive and spontaneous human beings are the best.

Theater Kids

Throughout school, the theater department has always been my go-to place with go-to people when I need advice, a dance party, or just someone to listen to me vent.

You never know what's going to happen when you're dealing with theatre or what kind of characters you'll encounter. We have too much fun doing anything! One time in my senior year acting class, we spent an entire class period watching Bob's Burgers, and it was the greatest class period ever.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.
