30 Reasons You Should Choose Spontaneity

spontaneous:

adjective

  1. performed or occurring as a result of a sudden inner impulse or inclination and without premeditation or external stimulus.

Spontaneity- that word... that noun that so many people crave in love, relationships, life in general. I think it's something many people crave. I think it's something sought after. I think it's something that makes friendships and relationships thrive. It may be horrifying to some, but it can be fantastically magical to others. So where's the magic in spontaneous adventures? I propose 30 reasons spontaneity is good for the soul:

1) It adds an element of surprise to your day.

2) It keeps you on your toes.

3) It lets you know that someone was thinking about you when you least expect it.

4) There's a light that often goes off in your eyes, and let me tell you, it's beautiful.

5) Spontaneity promotes adventure.

6) It gets you out of your comfort zone.

7) Spontaneity retracts you from your dull, boring life.

8) It lets you feel alive.

9) It causes you to adjust to changes.

10) Spontaneity allows you to get our of your comfort zone.

11) It helps you do more with your life.

12) It gets you off the couch and probably a breath of fresh air.

13) It can help get you out of a slump.

14) It can take your mind off of something that's bothering you.

15) It gives you a break from your typical daily routine.

16) It may take you new places.

17) It may introduce you to new faces.

18) It may cause you to become more curious.

19) Spontaneity will allow you to blossom.

20) It can cause you to become more open to new ideas.

21) It may help you relax.

22) You will learn to expect the unexpected.

23) You will have less regret.

24) You will be more satisfied.

25) You will appreciate the time you spend outside of your typical work day.

26) Spontaneity will give you joy (if you allow it to).

27) You will appreciate an unregimented schedule.

28) You will learn that your way isn't the only way.

29) You will learn to listen better.

30) You may learn to follow the instructions of others better (because who knows who's taking you own your adventure).

Whatever your spontaneous adventure, I hope you enjoy the ride.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
