30 Random Thoughts You Have Almost Every Time You Get Behind The Wheel

Ever since I was younger I was always obsessed with the concept of driving. I remember making my parents bring me to get my permit on the literal day that I was able to and made sure to make my driving test as soon as possible too.

Since then, driving has been one of my absolute favorite things to do. Here are some of the most random thoughts I have while driving.

1. Blinkers exist for a reason

2. OMG, drive faster!

3. Jeez, drive slower!

4. OK buddy, don't text and drive

5. Don’t check your phone. Don’t check your phone

6. Wow, I love this song

7. OK I hate this song

8. I hope I don’t get pulled over. What if I get pulled over?!

9. Do I need gas yet?

10. I must not have that much longer in the car

11. I’m a good driver I swear

12. What is the speed limit again?

13. I should have brought my sunglasses

14. What if I get into an accident?

15. Did you really have to turn out right in front of me?

16. Should I stop and get food?

17. Should I stop and get Starbucks? Or Dunkin?

18. More traffic, really?

19. I cannot be late

20. I hope I will be able to find a parking spot

21. You can turn right on red!

22. What would happen if I hit one of these construction cones?

23. Yeah, that was illegal

24. So sorry to all of the other drivers around me

25. Why are you riding your break? Up a hill???

26. What is an acceptable speed to set my windshield wipers?

27. The light just turned yellow, will I make it through before it turns red?!?

28. Why is this light literally 8 hours long?

29. I need to clean my car

30. Windows or AC?

I mean how else would I entertain myself in the car other than thinking about the most random things? Next time you're in the car, try to make your own list of random thoughts too.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows.
