Musicals have always been something that I loved and always had a big effect on my life. They make me feel happy, hopeful, sad, and sometimes awkward. The power of our emotions that songs can hold is huge. I have been invested in some of these plays since elementary school, and can honestly say they have lead me through so much. Here are 10 musicals and 30 songs you're sure to love:

1. Dear Evan Hansen.

"Waving Through A Window"- On the outside, always looking in/Will I ever be more than I've always been?/Cause I'm tap, tap, tapping on the glass/Waving through a window

"You Will Be Found"- Even when the dark comes crashing through/When you need a friend to carry you/And when you're broken on the ground/You will be found

"Sincerely, Me- Dear Evan Hansen/We've been way too out of touch/Things have been crazy/And it sucks that we don't talk that much/But I should tell you that I think of you each night

2. Hamilton.

"The Schuyler Sisters"- We hold these truths to be self-evident/That all men are created equal/And when I meet Thomas Jefferson/I'mma compel him to include women in the sequel!/Work!

"You'll Be Back"- You'll be back, time will tell/You'll remember that I served you well/Oceans rise, empires fall/We have seen each other through it all/And when push comes to shove/I will send a fully armed battalion to remind you of my love!

"Yorktown"- The world turned upside down/The world turned upside down/The world turned upside down
Down/Down, down, down/Freedom for America, freedom for France!

3. Wicked.

"For Good"- Like a comet pulled from orbit/As it passes the sun/Like a stream that meets a boulder/Halfway through the wood/Who can say if I've been changed for the better/But because I knew you/I have been changed for good.

"Defying Gravity"- Something has changed within me/Something is not the same/I'm through with playing by the rules of someone else's game

"I'm Not That Girl"-Don't on start/Wishing only wounds the heart/I wasn't born for the rose and pearl/There's a girl I know/He loves her so/I'm not that girl

4. The Book of Mormon.

Hello- HELLO! Would you like to change religions?! I have a free book written by Jesus!

Making Things Up Again- You see? This book can help us!/I just told a lie/No, wait, I didn't lie/I just used my imagination/And it worked!

I Believe- I can't allow myself to have any doubt/It's time to set my worries free/Time to show the world what Elder Price is about/And share the power inside of me

5. Mamma Mia.

Super Trouper- So I'll be there when you arrive/The sight of you will prove to me I'm still alive/And when you take me in your arms/And hold me tight/I know it's gonna mean so much tonightTonight the super trouper lights are gonna find me

Thank You For The Music- Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing/Thanks for all the joy they're bringing/
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty/What would life be?/Without a song or a dance what are we?/So I say thank you for the music/For giving it to me

Dancing Queen- Friday night and the lights are low/Looking out for a place to go/Where they play the right music/Getting in the swing/You come to look for a king/Anybody could be that guy/Night is young and the music's high/With a bit of rock music/Everything is fine/You're in the mood for a dance/And when you get the chance/You are the dancing queen

6. Hairspray.

Mama, I'm A Big Girl Now- Once upon a time I used to play with toys/But now I'd rather play around with teenage boys/So if I get a hickey please don't, have a cow/'Cause mama, I'm a big girl now

Without Love- 'Cause without love/Life is like the seasons with no summer/Without love/Life is rock 'n' roll without a drummer

You Can't Stop The Beat- And you can try to stop my dancin' feet/But I just cannot stand still/'Cause the world keeps spinning/'Round and 'round/And my heart's keeping time/To the speed of sound/I was lost 'til I heard the drums/Then I found my way/'Cause you can't stop the beat

7. Les Miserables.

One Day More- One day more/Another day, another destiny/This never-ending road to Calvary/
These men who seem to know my crime/Will surely come a second time/One day more

Empty Chairs At Empty Tables- Phantom faces at the window/Phantom shadows on the floor/
Empty chairs at empty tables where my friends will meet no more/Oh my friends, my friends don't ask me/What your sacrifice was for/Empty chairs at empty tables/Where my friend will sing no more.

Little People- So never kick a dog/Because it's just a pup/You'd better run for cover when the pup grows up/And we'll fight like twenty armies and we won't give up

8. Chicago.

Both Reached For The Gun- He had strength and she had none/And yet we both reached for the gun

Cell Block Tango-He had it coming/He took a flower/In its prime/And then he used it/And he abused it/It was a murder/But not a crime!

Mr. Cellophane- I tell ya, Cellophane, Mister Cellophane/Should have been my name Mister Cellophane/'Cause you can look right through me/Walk right by me and never know I'm there

9. You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown.

My Philosophy- Just like a busy bee/Each new philosophy/Can fly from tree to tree/And keep me moving!/When life's a dizzy maze/On alternating days/I choose a different phrase!

My Blanket and Me- It's a cozy sanctuary but it's far from necessary/'Cause I'm just as self-reliant as before/As a simple demonstration of my independent station/I will go and leave my blanket on the floor

Happiness- Happiness is finding a pencil/ Sleeping in moonlight/Telling the time/ Happiness is learning to whistle/ Tying your shoe For the very first time/Happiness is playing the drum In your own school band/ And happiness is walking hand in hand.

10. Phantom Of The Opera.

All Ask of You- Say you love me every waking moment/Turn my head with talk of summertime/Say you need me with you now and always/Promise me that all you say is true/That's all I ask of you.

Think Of Me- Remember me, once in a while/Please, promise me you'll try

Music Of The Night- Night time sharpens, heightens each sensation/Darkness wakes and stirs imagination

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
