Sometimes you’re having a bad day and need little things to cheer you up. Sometimes you’re having a great day and it’s made better by all the small things that go right. Either way, here’s a short list of everyday things that bring a little joy.

  1. When you’re waiting on the train platform and the doors open right in front of you
  2. When someone responds to your email almost immediately
  3. When a movie ends and the credits start rolling and you get to sit and really think about everything you just saw
  4. Piling on toppings at self-serve frozen yogurt stores
  5. When you get inside right before a rainstorm and hear it on the roof and windows
  6. Making your friends laugh so hard that they cry
  7. Using freshly cleaned makeup brushes
  8. Sunny days spent under the shade of trees
  9. When you find the perfectly comfy reading position
  10. That first sip of tea that you just brewed
  11. Hot chocolate
  12. Putting on your comfiest T-shirt and boxer shorts and watching a movie at home
  13. Watching the new episode of your favorite show
  14. Treating yourself to ice cream on a Friday
  15. Sleeping in late on the weekends
  16. When Spotify plays and old song that you forgot you loved
  17. Taking your time perusing a book store and sitting down to read excerpts of books you might buy
  18. Baking cookies and eating one fresh out of the oven
  19. Swimming in the ocean and feeling the waves pass over you, or riding the waves and feeling like a powerful mermaid
  20. Stepping out of the shower in your cleanest state and putting on lotion
  21. Finding old journals or diaries and re-reading what you were wrote down in elementary school
  22. When you start to get hot and then a cool breeze
  23. Finding jeans that fit perfectly
  24. When you get in the parking spot on the first try
  25. Extra fries
  26. Two for one sales of your favorite ice cream flavor
  27. When you drop something but catch it the second before it hits the floor
  28. When you write something and your handwriting comes out extra neat
  29. Thinking you forgot your wallet but finding it at the bottom of your bag
  30. Your friend complimenting your outfit
Appreciate the little things in life.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
