We've all felt that feeling of dread when we realize we've been staring at a blank page for 20 minutes with no progress and a quickly-approaching deadline. The last time it hit me, I made myself come up with at least five topics to write about. If for nothing else, at least to boost my creativity and get my brain cells fired up again. They've accumulated since then, so just in case you've run into a cold case of the blinking curser, I have your back with these 30 blog/article topics. Feel free to use them all, or just get inspired for your own!

  1. Write about your favorite coffee mug (you’re more creative than you think!)
  2. Explain why your field is — or isn’t — the field to go into.
  3. Share your weight loss/gain story and give readers insight on how you did it!
  4. Take a trip to the mall and people watch. Write fictional stories for who you see.
  5. Do the same as number four except write letters to the people you see.
  6. Brag about yourself. What are your accomplishments and how did you accomplish them?
  7. Who, or what, inspires you?
  8. Talk about the vintage trend of today. Is it a yay or a nay?
  9. Share tips to redecorating a room, house, or dorm.
  10. Give a talk about what you wish you would have known in high school.
  11. Tell college students what you wish you would have known when you were in their position.
  12. Explain a goal you have and outline your action plan.
  13. Write a review for your favorite show (no spoilers!).
  14. Talk about your addiction to — or avoidance of — social media.
  15. What are the best apps you’ve used and why? Are they free ones (FREE is a magnet word.)
  16. Make a list like this one to help others who have caught writer’s block.
  17. Make a photo story of an adventure you’ve been on.
  18. Make a photo story of a day in your life. Include things that are overly ordinary to you. Sometimes those are the most interesting things to others.
  19. Write an open letter to ________.
  20. Explain what dietary rules you follow and how they have improved/worsened your health (try to stay light-hearted).
  21. Tell about your top destinations in the world, whether you’ve been there yourself, or not.
  22. Write about your favorite musical artist or genre and why more people need to know about them.
  23. Explain your tactics to stay focused and motivated on busy days.
  24. Review different types of tea/coffee.
  25. Write a how-to. Make it interesting or funny.
  26. Outline the pros and cons of Mac vs. PC/Apple vs. Android.
  27. Talk about a recent news event. Include all the facts and explain your stance on the issue.
  28. Create a photo story of recent fashions and include why — or why not — they’re the best things to ever be designed.
  29. Get with the season. For example, if it’s near Halloween, share your favorite ghost stories or DIY costumes.
  30. Write a (short) autobiography. Just let the reader know who you are and what thrills you.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
