Emotions sometimes get the best of us, after all, we are only humans. Sometimes, it seems like it just piles on so high, and there's no where left to turn. Whether you're religious or not, you can appreciate a book that's been around and thriving for 2000 years (give or take). Take a peep at these verses to get you started then be sure to find some of your own.

Feeling Alone?

Deuteronomy 31:6 - Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

1 Samuel 12:22- For the sake of his great name the Lord will not reject his people, because the Lord was pleased to make you his own.

Matthew 28:20- and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Isaiah 41:10- So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

John 14:17-18 -the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

Isaiah 54:10 Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

Feeling Scared?

Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

Isaiah 35:4 say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you."

John 14:27- Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Psalm 23:4- Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Psalm 56:3-4 - When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?

Philippians 4:6- Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Feeling Hopeless?

Jeremiah 29:11 -For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Proverbs 23:18-There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.

Matthew 11:28-30- "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Psalm 39:7-"But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.

Hebrews 12:3- Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Philippians 4:13- I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

John 16:33- "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

Feeling Angry?

Proverbs 19:11-A person's wisdom yields patience; it is to one's glory to overlook an offense.

James 1:19-20- My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.

Luke 6:31-Do to others as you would have them do to you.

Ephesians 4:26-27- "In your anger do not sin"[a]: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,27 and do not give the devil a foothold.

Psalm 37:8- Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil.

Ephesians 4:31-32- Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Feeling Sad?

Psalm 34:17- The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18- Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Isaiah 26:3-You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

Philippians 4:7-And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Revelation 21:4-'He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death' or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

Romans 8:18- I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
