Too often some people get the wrong idea about makeup and the people who wear it. It can be seen as a mask or something insecure people use to make themselves feel more attractive to others. Although I cannot speak for every person who wears makeup, I do know that not everyone who wears foundation, concealer, mascara, and more feels unworthy of attention when all of that is wiped away. Here are three incorrect reasons why people think I wear makeup.
I Wear Makeup To Impress Guys
In my experience, I have not seen a difference in the male attention I receive depends on how much makeup I cake on my face.
To be honest, most guys don’t know the difference between bronzer and contour powder, so how could they possibly appreciate what I went through to create my look at first glance? I usually decide how much makeup to put on based on the event I'm going to and the amount of time I have to get ready, not how many guys I plan on hooking up with.
If your makeup is not poorly done or too messy, most guys don’t care. In general, if there’s a guy out there for you, he should support your choice to wear makeup and appreciate your process as a creative outlet you use to express yourself.
I Wear Makeup Because I’m Insecure About Myself
I'll be honest, this statement does have some truth to it. When that monster zit pops up on your nose the morning of your senior prom, it is natural to feel embarrassed and want to cover it up. However, I think a change in perspective is due.
Makeup is an art form, just like painting on a canvas or choreographing a dance to be performed on a stage. It is a way to express your creativity, but instead of a stage or a canvas, you display your art on yourself.
Rather than covering your zit because you feel ugly with it, think of it as a mistake on your canvas, cover it to make your art complete (if you wish), and then take care of it when the makeup comes off.
It’s not about changing who you are because you don’t like how you look, it’s about creating a masterpiece on yourself the way you want it to look that day.
Guys Don't Wear Makeup, So This Is How I Show My Femininity
It’s 2018. It’s time to accept that men and women can experience the magic of makeup. Like I said before, makeup is an art form that all people are welcome to embrace.
In fact, some of the most talented makeup artists I know are men, and I’m not just talking about drag queens. I think it is fascinating how makeup has the power to transform the ordinary to the extraordinary. All people deserve to experience that same joy I feel when I do my makeup if they want to do so, regardless of what gender or sexuality they are.
Overall, the most important thing to remember is that no one should feel forced to wear makeup or ashamed for enjoying it. It is something fun and creative to do anytime, whether it is for a fancy event or a Tuesday afternoon.
If you take care of your skin while using makeup, I do not see any problem with wearing it whenever you want, however you want. So, try the smokey eye. Grab a deep purple lipstick. Embrace your inner diva and experiment to see what works for you!
